Half-Life 2 won the "best PC game" and "best overall game" categories last year, which is just as unimportant as this year's absence on Gamespot's lists.
A bit strange that it isn't even mentioned once, but then again GS must have a reason for ignoring Valve's game, whether you and I would...
Being reserved is not a problem, looking like she's had one lobotomy too many is.
Voice acting is fine, body movements are OK (except for the glitchy part), it's just the facial animation that needs work; it shouldn't be too hard to make her look interested and show a little friendly smile at...
That's Judith Mossman, no specifics known about her yet I think.
I hope Valve will spend a little more time on her animations; they look glitchy when she walks away from Gordon and she also doesn't show any dynamic facial expression when her voice communicates slightly varying emotional...
I'm using win98, but I don't see how that should matter.
Thing is, my cable connection only allows a 16 kB/sec upload and even when BT saps just 12 kB/sec away it grinds everything down to a halt.
So much so, that the last time I tried to dl through BT I couldn't even log in to another forum...

Some of the E3 videos from last year also show moving layers of mist (Striders and Traptown at least).
Edge is the only magazine I read nowadays, but I doubt they will have a HL2 preview soon.
I can't see them having agreed with a mandatory HL2 cover, so I don't expect that they were present at the hands-on presentation in March.
"X-Vector from our forums has posted a long summary about what has been said in various magazines about HL2."
To clarify, both the translated preview and interview are taken from PC Gameplay (Belgian game mag).
In the text, I'm referring to PC Zone because of similarities between their...
Agreed.
Unfortunately your exaggeration is the only thing that supports your argument, i.e. that over-frequent loading is an annoyance.
What I am interested in finding out is how the continuous gameworld structure will allow for the day and nighttime differences in HL2; daytime outside...
I've posted a summary of the preview and interview elsewhere, guess I can put it up here as well:
Well, after reading the PC Zone preview I have decided to skip on a translation of the PC Gameplay article and focus on a couple of points that are either not in PCZ or are IMO of enough interest...
