I have a similar problem (cubemaps build, but then don't update the level), which USED TO be solved by reloading the map (or relaunching the game), but now doesn't work at all. I ONLY get the default cubemap everywhere now, no matter how many times I rebuild cubemaps, or reload the level/game...

Has Valve fixed this yet? I still have the same problems.

If you open a light's properties, you'll see HDR in there somewhere... and then when you compile, you'll have an HDR checkbox in the compile dialog. But I'm not sure what light settings to use; I've never used it before, because I don't like HDR lighting. It makes you feel like you're walking...

That's what I expect, but I never saw it, nor encountered it in the tutorials that taught me how to use Hammer. :hmph: And so now, after hundreds of hours of mapping, and finally being on the last 2 hours until the map release, I find it. Yay!

Yeah, that's the one I get. I dont get it when compiling within Hammer though. Very strange. I just preloaded Episode1 after that, also, and for a while, HL2DM was saying "preloaded", and I couldn't launch it. :rolleyes:
