I'm sure they were there, that's not the issue really (and if they weren't, that's coming to come out fast, just you watch). What is relevant though is how bad this interview was compared to how much hype it got beforehand.
It wasn't just "one site" with the delay news, HL2Files had it first - well, verified and posted first - then Shacknews and others got their e-mails from Doug Lombardi and posted them. I've traced the ip back and the origin was VALVe's building, so this is either someone who really knows how to...
What I posted was from the Lombardi e-mail, yes. The "fake" they're talking about in this thread though was a fake e-mail from Gabe Newell saying the Lombardi e-mail wasn't true.
Well, before I posted the news of it at HL2Files, I did a snoop on the ip and it brought back Valve as the source. Never hurts to have a second opinion though.
Do NOT mail Gabe, jeez. Flooding Gabe and VALVe with e-mails isn't going to help in any way. I'm sure he's already got more than he can reply to in a month.
Some of you guys need to relax. At the end of the day, it is just a game.
Feels good to have HL2Files beat Shacknews on this big a story- even if the news is as depressing as it is. ;( Hopefully the editing tools / Hammer will still find a release soon so mods can at least get some quality time in.
<laughs> j00 n00b0rz! j00 shutup! I r |337!
... Bleh.. now I feel dirty, Trantjd. Curse you. ;(
Thanks, man. It's easier to understand when you factor in that I really haven't slept for oh.. about 3 days now.
I said starting to, it's not at "ugly" yet, heh. I guess I'm readin' between the lines, scarred by one too many flame wars erupting up all of a sudden. :p Could also be the sleep deprivation.
Well, to be blunt, the only thing HL2.net has over HL2Files are these very lively forums, Jez. Not much of a rivalry really and I don't look at HL2.net as a competitor, just another venue to gather at that's available to all of us eager HL2 awaitees.
Also, I'm not intending to advertise...
Yeah, and we have all of them available. Just check Half-Life 2 > Media > Video. =] Or go here if you're lazy like me. :p http://www.halflife2files.com/sort.files?game=HL2&cat=2449&ref=2446
Forget Fileplanet, we've got you covered at HL2Files, man. Scroll down to about midway at the home page and you'll see thumbnails linking to all of the currently released Bink videos there.
Enjoy. If you have any problems, drop me an e-mail: [email protected] and I'll help you out however...
