I don't want to come off as some prude that thinks games or movies are responsible for violence - because I don't, and I get pissed at people (and the media) that think they do - but I still maintain that a ten year old shouldn't be watching deathmatch, for the reasons they shouldn't be watching...
There is a strong difference here between the news and a 10 year old watching his dad playing violent simulations of reality.
I don't want to see porn during my games either, but I fail to see how it is much worse than watching repetitive violence at such a young age. And yes, I've played...

What a bunch of shit. Why should you have a 10-year-old watch you playing a game that is intended for adults? So pictures of people taking a crap is bad for the kids, but if you get them to watch people being shot to death over and over and over is OK?
Idiot.
Thank-you. I had no idea it had a minor, geeky history like that. I just assumed people couldn't type very well.
I think I'll stick to 'owned' for now though.
Cheers, my knowledgeable (and bored) comrade.
Two things;

This thread made me spend over four seconds adding HDGR (High Dynamic Glasses Realism) to the game.
I think HDGR should be a must for those of you that want added realism.
Pred,
I do take your point. And having severs that don't use the GG is fine. However, I didn't like your point that 'serious' players wouldn't play a competition with it.
Refer to the post above by Mechagodzilla for the rest of the argument...
Who gives a **** about a serious competition? Use or or don't use it. It's a fun computer game that people play after work or school.
The GG is quite different and original. It vastly changes the gameplay (you don't even need to use it as a weapon - it's also a tool to protect yourself, set...
The one thing I don't like about this map though, is not so much a part of the map - but rather the way it highlights an irritation of HL2DM. This would be the sprint feature. It's just annoying covering long distances when you have to slow down / speed up.
It never bothered me in any other...
