The thing is, the more people are required to be online to play games, pay bills, read news (whatever it may be), the more it pushes the need for a system of cheap, fast, internet service for the entire world. Protesting this movement is like protesting the sun rising.... you can dace around...
One thing I'm looking forward to is the new streaming technology they had to develop for this xbox version. I'm hoping that it will make load times less of an issue - one of the big annoyances for me with the pc version.
The screen projects a live image, just like a live video feed would. The characters are hidden, acting out the scene, and it is projected onto the video screen.
WoW came first
Uhm..no. A well built map could certainly pull off the illusion of a large city, and still offer quite alot of playable space (more than hl1 singleplayer city levels). Source doesn't 'suck at really big maps', but it doesn't specialize in them either like BF2 or GTA do. A...
Ok, lets say they 'took an alternate loop' through time. Since time is a measurement of energy in motion, 'removing' something from time would mean removing it from the very system that is being measured. This would undoubtedly tear a hole in the very fabric of space-time, sucking all things...
heh... actually, time sped up for Gordon and Alyx. A week of time passed, in the instant of their teleportation. It was a 'slow teleport' because the actual mechanic of teleportation (from the perspective of the rest of the world) took a week to happen. Confusing, but cool.
In the game, Alyx and Gordon took a 'slow teleport' a week into the future, right when the rebellion was starting, so yes - time travel has been introduced to the story.
Alot of the skill a DM player posesses, comes from the subtleties that are hard to teach. Mainly, learning the nuances of prediction and the psychology behind the game. My aim is good, but not godly, yet I come out on top alot of times simply because I have developed a solid intuition towards...
yes, you can target a whole npc class just by using that name (npc_citizen)..etc. You can also target a subname by using the * symbol... ie. rebel_soldier1, rebel_soldier2.... would be targeted by using rebel_* as the target
Sorry for the incomprehenisible sentance there... I was just trying to point out that getting something playable and worth taking video of, is a battle in itself. I wouldn't expect a polished mod at this stage of development. Meh..
Don't judge a mod too harshly from it's first video. Most of the battle is actually getting something that you can even take a video of. The polish comes later. Of course, they could have spent all their time making the models and maps look photorealistic and breathtaking....then, you know...
The fog is there to mask the short draw distance. yes, you can turn it off, if you enable cheats, but instead of seeing fog, you will now see the distanced geometry clipping in and out in large levels. In other words, it will look like ass. The fog also masks the water horizon, and will make...
I could photoshop an image like that in minutes. why dont you take a demo of yourself cheating, and post your steam ID while your at it....if you want to impress.
I sat there at e3 and watched the game running on the xbox, and have to say I was quite impressed with the way it looked - considering it was xbox. It certainly didn't look 'crap'....better than most xbox games. I applaud them for this.
I love this map! Yeah, it still has a few bugs (they need to clip that roof), but playing this on a team server is just a blast for me, regardless. I actually like the fact that the teams are seemingly imbalanced - it makes each team develop a different strategy. Lately, I've been whoring the...
Hey, this is a much appreciated site! Had a look around and just wanted to say thanks for the community effort.
I noticed you had my map dm_swamplight_final on your list (thanks, btw), and a clickey from my name. I have a website www.duncanmoore.org, that you can link to from my name, if...
