i played doom 3 with a 512ram geforcefx5600 and 1.6ghz and i had 2fps near a monster

hmm if u got 2 slots for ram how can u get 4gigs or more than 1024??? ive only seen 512 been sold in stores. And how can i tell which ram i got?? i know i got kingston ddr but look at the ram list at this site http://www.laumar.com/parts.htm
