2 questions...

/ On the barricade video has someone noticed that the fire behind the combines doesn't move when gordon's grenade explode?
/ A little question now does somebody know if environment can be destroyed like in Red Faction? i know the strider destroy the building but can we make the same? until what point?

2. No there isn't a geomod like red faction (2), it all has to be scripted.

fire moving - I didn't notice that, but do you really expect flames to be effected by dynamic effects like your grenade going off?

environment - anything can possibly be destroyed. An example that was discussed is if you made an entire building out of wood. You could but a couple satchel charges or whatever and the entire building could come down. It would kill your comp, but it could happen.

You can make any object destructable.

nw909 it's just a property of the object, not really a script

be nice... not red faction style (but similar effects can be done as an option for the mapper)

err...in my video, the fire keep moving.
hl2 environment will not be destructable like in red faction, because they want to keep the game and the story linear so that u can't blow holes somewhere and get access to the boss immediatly. however, u could definitly build a map that's totally destructable. Sometime to enjoy a game, u don't need to blow holes everywhere. Even in red faction, they have some undestructable areas to keep the game linear.
 
the fire doesnt stop ...... atleast not on my copy or the barricade video..... and anyone have any idea wut that extra hud is that says 0 to the right of the ammo hud?

sorry for the "pre-historic question", i don't remember having read this... The 0 on the hud is the ammo for secondary weapon use...
