I think it would be sweet if they could somehow just release the short tech demo for us to play with. Fans could maybe get a rough idea how HL2 would run on their system, and it would be amusing. I wanna shoot down those barrels and throw a matress in the water. ;(
Yah a demo would be nice, but I think thats just wishful thinking. With how secretive they've been about specifics and not letting out the plot before the release, i find that highly doubtful.
I'd like to see maybe some new media, and it'd be nice if they could get the SDK out for the mods...
Well, good games take time.
But I guess by that statement Duke Nukem Forever must the holy grail of gaming. But I'm pretty sure I'll see the second coming of christ before that game gets released. They're really gonna have to up the bar to beat out HL2.
I highly doubt they would delay it and miss the christmast shopping season.
I find is suspicious that Gabe all last week would re-affirm the Sept.30th date and suddenly a week later it's pushed back a month or two. If anything, it sounds like a dispute with the publisher. Greedy bastards...
I agree, but Valve will probably not acknowledge the delay having anything to do with them. Perhaps they will blame the publisher or some unforseen bug/error. To try and make it seem like they are not at fault.
I really think developers shouldn't even announce a release date. I'd prefer just...
I'm glad its pushed back.. now my gf won't hate me for ignoring her. ANd my penis will get more exercise... altho sometimes the HL2 vidoes give me boners. hehe
Any publicity is good publicity... look how much press this game is getting for free. I really doubt the game was even intented to come out next week.. all this will do is create more hype. Its actually smart if you ask me, and its not costing them a dime.
Some fans will be angry.. but will...
Oh, ok now i get it!! AHAHAHA LOLROFL!! You should get your own HBO special.. Chris Rock ain't got shit on you.
oh... and that's called sarcasm.
:cheese:
I hope you're kidding? I can run HL1 at 1280 x 1024 and get 99 FPS, same UT2003 with everything maxed up and get roughly 60FPS.
I do want to upgrade to atleast to a 2ghz processor.. however, I dont have alot of money to throw around right now. Which would be wiser to upgrade 1st... videocard...
Well the source of that movie was from this site...
http://www.computerandvideogames.com
And it shows a big logo at the beginning of the video.. the file is almost 30MB, and its 5 minutes. its all old footage except its higher res, and it shows the driving footage throught he dried up sea...
The one in the HL2 discussion forum got deleted (even tho it wasn't my thread).
My system:
AMD XP 1800 (1.55ghz)
1.25GB DDR RAM
Ati Radeon 8500 128MB DDR
WD 120GB 7200RPM 8MB/cache
How well do u think this will run HL2?
In the other thread they said if I were to upgrade, to...
I read something in a interview with Gabe though about users hacking the Steam cache to grab videos that haven't been publically released yet.. anyone know anything about this? And were they the video that are already out?
The website said the link is dead already... I'm guessing if it was Valve releasing video they would have done it via steam. Or sent it to fileplanet or fileshack.
Its probably the one with the driving footage that was just released the other day. I'm pretty sure Valve would be the only other source releasing new videos as of now.
