Ok, those of you who have nvidia hardware shouldn't fret. Now I do own a 9800 pro, but I upgraded from a geforce 3 ti 200. Ati certainly holds the crown for now... and I am happy with my purchase, but...
(puts on flame retardant suit)
Nvidia DOES have a great history of driver...
Half Life: Day One came with one of my vidcards... either my voodoo3 or GeForce2MX. I can't remember which, but it was released with one of these. It was the original game up to where Gordon makes it to the surface the first time and encounters soldiers.
Edit: I still have the CD at home.
Actually, I really enjoyed the thread. It was very cool to hear from both Feath and Sheepfactory on what they saw and thought. Both were highly critical, and had reasonable arguements for what was discussed. I also liked the fact that there was an agreement to disagree. I don't think that...
Actually, this was asked in another thread or forum (can't remember which), but switch is correct: the water cannot spill out (without a script).
Edit: If memory serves, the question was answered by Gabe.
Well, my 2 cents: I stayed away from ATI ever since they promised opengl support for my rage II + card that I paid a bundle for (waaay back in the day...)
I have gone with 3dfx and nvidia ever since. I was very impressed with nvidia (and still am), but I took the plunge and bought a 9800...
Excellent point Inflatablewoman.
No, I don't think it's, but it is based off the hl engine (which is modded quake/quake2 material). My understanding is that any maps developed using the half life engine (and I never considered that CS material might be THAT different) can be easily ported...
Hey all. Not sure if this has been addressed, but another thread got me thinking....
Would it be possible to port a version of CS (classic) to the source engine? Would a mod like this infringe on copyright laws? If it was free? I read that hl maps could easily be ported over, and that...
Now what would be REALLY cool would be if valve incuded a version of "Classic CS" like they did with TFC.
... of course, that's not exactly revolutionary, but....
Bravo Anwar!!!!
How the heck are you guys keeping up with all these posts? Thanks to all for the replys. And I agree that I wait as eagerly as any of you for HL2. HL was easily my favourite game of all time. Best single player game. Period.
Dscowboy, I think you and I are saying the same things. Just remember that CS was originally a mod. Just because valve bought out Gooseman doesn't mean I should pay to play. In fact I don't. And that is good. Gooseman is now employed by a reputable game developer as a result of his hard...
Posted by dscowboy: "But here's what's wrong with your statement: Call of Duty is as much a 'Quake 3 mod' as TF2 is a 'HL2 mod'. Just because a game uses the same engine as a game you already have does not mean it should be free."
First of all, and to the above posters, thank you for...
Okay, I know I'm gonna ruffle some feathers here, but I feel that those of us who don't want to pay monthly fees or whatever are not being unreasonable. Here is why I think that.
Half life was one of the most popular games in history. Why?
1. Single player experience has yet to be topped...
