Interesting idea, maybe the game starts off with you doing a mission for the G-Man somewhere which results in you making the combine mad who come to earth to wipe it out. I doubt that is accurate but I mean this concept art assures me that the story will be pretty freaky and amazing.

Maybe the combine uses some chemical weapons or even just tear gas or whatever. Many current special forces use gasmasks. I read that the SAS uses them partially because they are intimidating as well, to make people surrender. Im from US so ya know, it's not like I know for a fact.

Umm that is not accurate. Steam will be used for patches and other free content delivery after HL2 launch. In fact people that buy HL2 retail will still beable to download the game off Steam. Actually new reports indicate more people are playing BF1942 then CS. At least thats what I read, though I could care less. Though I honestly do not like CS at all. I perfer Rainbow Six series and Ghost Recon and DC.

What if HL2 had a specifc MP mode that was a huge persistent online battle, spanning the globe with people being allowed to be combine or resistence and it was all hosted on valve servers. That would be the type of thing youd have to pay for.
