Just wait until games come out that look like FF: spirits within than say that Hl2 will look good. But no doubt Hl2 with it's ability to take advantage of newer hardware as it comes out will still be able to hold it's own in 5 yrs. We will just have to wait and find out. :)
Well from what i've read on these forums, is that Ati's cards have everything they need to correctly implement AA but it needs to be enabled (centroid sampling). So I think that it is a hardware related problem and that maybe new drivers will fix it? For ati that is.
Heh, a 2.4c P4 can do 4ghz with LN2 cooling heh, but who wants to deal with that? I'd have to go with AMD here, because they are cheaper and my XP 2400+ outpeforms a P4 2.4ghz.
Do you have a link for it Xtasy? If memory serves, I think it was hl2 models, but it was a while ago. And Demon-Dragon, i've seen those demos before, i'm talking about a video demonstration. :)
Thanks though.
I saw it a while ago, it had a white backround like a stair case that had models coming down and interacting with it, it was to show off the physics. Can't remember if it was related to hl2 or not, but does anyone know what movie i'm talking about and where to find it. Thanks.
Yeah those things do resemble the bugs in Starship Troopers, especially in this pic:

Unless you are going to OC your processor to 4Ghz and up that cooling isn't really worth it. Phase change cooling is for the most hardcore OCers, and if you are not sure about OC'ing your CPU than I wouldn't waste the money on it.
Yeah I was reading up a bit on the phase change cooling. The best one out is the Prometeia Mach 2 it's quite amazing. Down side is the cost, at around $600USD, not everyone can afford it including me ;(. Haven't checked up on water cooling, but I hear the bad thing is condensation and keeping...
KiNG you are right, lowering the multiplier allows you to remian at a certain Core clock speed but raising the FSB to higher speeds. Say you have the normal 15x140 you get 2100mhz with 280mhz FSB. But if you lower the multiplier to say 12x175 you get the same 2100mhz but a increased 350mhz...
Hey I have a AMD XP 2400 OC'ed to 2600 (15x140), I was wondering what are the advantages of unlocking my CPU and setting the multiplier lower and raising the FSB? If there are big advantages to doing so, is there any way to do this without taking out my CPU and doing it manually or getting an...
Remember to close steam before you start to edit the file. Ok first off you need to get Ultraedit (search for it on Google). After you install it, open gcache.gcf, it will take a while depending on your computer. After it opens go to search and type /media/movies it should bring you to the...
Haha, you guys are made this into a hl2 vs. stalker thread. Both games, I think, will be good in their own right. I will most likely buy both games. Stalker is still very far away from being released (first half of 2004) so they have plenty of time to fix things that are wrong with it...
