Is Earth really going to be free?

That's what I'm figuring as well. The main threat (the superportal) is gone, so the Combine is going to try and find another way to create a portal. If whatever it is that's on the Borealis made the ship (& part of the drydock) disappear, I think it could be of good use to the Combine. In other...

The Political Compass - 2009 Edition

My political compass (June '09) Economic Left/Right: -5.75 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.26 Hm. I always knew I was left-wing. The test didn't talk about gun control (which is the only one conservative viewpoint I actually do have), which was surprising.

    North Korea threatens US

Kind of interesting; not the first dictator/artist though. Hitler was an artist and I believe he did try to apply to the Vienna School of Fine Arts (considering his career path, I doubt he made it in).

    Music library game

All albums (Pablo Honey, The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail To The Thief, In Rainbows), Thom Yorke's The Eraser. EDIT: One of my favorite bands, lots of variety to be found in their music, IMO. I've found their music to be a rather large influence for me composition-wise, actually...

Is Earth really going to be free?

It's not a contradiction, I think you may be misunderstanding something here. Kleiner's exact words are: "We must make the most of the time we have, as it is by no means certain how much time we have secured ourselves before the Combine attempt to restore their dominion, as they certainly...

    Local music + concerts...

Yeah, I think what Dog's talking about is your best bet. Try Google or just go to the local bars & clubs to find out who's playing. Do you know anyone in your town that's into the local music scene?

Transformers 2: the Revenge Rotten Tomato score: 20%

Not surprised. Bay is a terrible director; I was very unimpressed by the first trailer I saw, and the film is even worse IMO. Seems like a good candidate for worst film of the year.
