Its only a portion of the book, the behind the scenes book is almost 400 pages whereas the sampler is 100.
My guess is the sampler will contain a bit from the strategy guide, a bit from the behind the scenes book, and possibly a bit from the mod-makers guide (console commands maybe?)
It would be interesting if they talked about why they didn't officially delay the game until the last minute and whatnot. Highly doubtful, but interesting nonetheless.
The biggest problem I see in terms of HL2's ragdolls is that once something's a ragdoll, it can't go back. You lose alot of realism when the bodies don't move at all after 'dying'. IRL, unless shot in the head, heart or blown up by a grenade, the body would eliminate any crazy looking ragdoll...
