Boot Camp doesn't run in OS X or anything; it installs a native Windows XP partition on your hard drive. There's no performance penalty, and Apple provides all of its drivers so it's easy to get running once XP is installed. Don't really bother with gaming on OS X...
It's definitely worth getting bf1942, but I only know that when I checked it out of the library a few times, I was successfully able to make an account and play with it online.

Ya, the only one that has the iphone like touch is the Dell latitude xt, but it costs 2.5k at minimum.

I was sort of inferring that the 9800 series will be much better than the 8800 series because Nvidia high end cards are roughly twice (or more) as fast as their midrange cards. Since the 9600gt is bit slower than the 8800gt, then I reasoned the 9800gt will probably be much faster than the 8800gt.
