Nobody needs a 9800pro or a 5900ultra. Honestly, if you should never have to spend over $300 on a videocard. I would say get a radeon 9700(non pro) for a little over $200. Then again, im a cheap ass.

I think they could you start out the game the g-man will be there saying somthing like "there is a training area to your left" so that you have the option to run through it at the start when you start single player. That is the best solution i can see.

too many threds about video cards. It really, really, doesnt matter what you get, you will be happy with either 9800 or 5900. And i like ati drivers, they are funny.

Nvidia doesn't have better anisotropic filtering, at 8x on both nividia looks better, but the 16x on the radeons is better looking. =D either way both look good, but most people will tell you ati looks better, really it depends on your taste.

I think they are different boards in some fasion. ATI learned their lesson about underclocking to sell as a cheaper product from the 9500.
