Well, there is none unless you plan to upgrade later. You could go the other way and try to overclock it, but thats not the best idea.

Yeah, ive seen overclocks in this bad boy. A radeon 9500 pro has 8 pipelines. The 9600 pro has 4. The 9600 is weaker because of this, but when clock at 750/450(about) they preformed about the same, all with stock cooling. Double the pipelines, 256 bit momory, and you have somthing probally...

You arent stupid, just under learned. Pipelines are where the information is rendered. thats about as straight forward as i can explain it with going into too much detail. Good question though.

I belive you can mix a stick of pc2700 and pc2100, but you have to make it run at the same speed. so, you would probally have to drop the pc2700 to pc2100. (I'm not sure at all, so if you know I'm wrong tell me) GOING OFF ON A LIMB I am not 100% sure, but i think you can pull off mixing...

ATI looks and runs better at this point. But things like this are always changeing. Who knows, but i think they need to make an 8 pipeline version of the radeon9600 pro and call it god of the gpu's.

that should be fine. Your only problem really is the video card, and a 128 meg gf4 should be enough. Im running on a duron 900, gf2 mx 400, and 256 pc133 ram(running at 100). I'm getting a new computer before september 30 so i dont need to worry.

its really a personal choice. Im cheap, so AMD for me. And at this point i dont think that you can get a fast p4 for $100, but then again im an idiot. My personal choice would be get a 2500+ and overclock. With some of the left over money, buy a good heatsink and fan.
