I had a semi-auto AK47 a good bit ago, it's not the best place for it. On the other hand it's part of what makes the AK47 design as simple/good as it is.
For a sniper rifle, I figure it's less of an issue than for a assault rifle.
Next time I load the model up I'll play with the barrel. See the thing is it's kind of the counter-point to this:
Which reminds me I need to finish that bad boy hehe.
Ok I welded some faces, and added some like suggested to the trigger guard and I added a few to the grip to help with my smoothing group problem(which I think I have fixed now). here's how she looks currently:
The scope once triangulated is ~1000 triangles :/.
I left the trigger guard angular on purpose, I'll see how it looks rounded though and clean up the unneeded faces on the body.
Thanks.
Here's the 'Neotokyo' take on the traditional sniper rifle. I'm having some problems with smoothing groups :dozey:
~2400 Triangles.
I know it doesn't look very advanced as is. Although, I think once it's skinned how I'm thinking, it should fit right in.
Very very nice work. Good to see others doing non-real firearms too. Only thing that niggles me is the ejector port being on the right side. But thats just a niggle heh heh.
Everything expect the hat looks like an actual photo not photorealistic. To me any way. Looks like that retired mil. base in washington state with all the bunkers.
Thanks guys.
@Stone : Yeah I was thinking a little along those lines but wasn't sure where to go with it.
@mindless_moder: I think it's my style and subject matter showing through :)
@Gargus: I model everything in Wings3D (free http://www.wings3d.com ). I really can't say enough good...
There's a couple of benches inside the van you can't see otherwise the interior is pretty bare for now. Last pic shows the scale with the small urban tank. Pictures are worth a thousand words...
And now the rifle. I started with the basic design of the FN F2000, and this is how...
@dawdler - lol
Good work but looks off some where(I'd have to looks at pics tho so maybe nevermind)... do the internals, hammer and slide, work for animation?
