    Co-op in HL2?

We've learned a lot in our development of Sven Co-op for Half-Life, we're certainly going to improve upon that for Half-Life 2. Even still we're updating the Half-Life 1 version soon with new features and gameplay types which will further focus on Co-operative play.

    Volumetric Entities in HL2

Yes, provided the given particle system has proper collision detection.

    Volumetric Entities in HL2

Yes, they're called particle systems. It's one of the touted features of Half-Life 2. Many Half-Life mods already have particle systems, including Day of Defeat and Counter-Strike.

seems silly, but when you look at the floor, will Gordons feet be there?

Wait, wasn't Hitman thirdperson-only? That's what I seem to remember.

Half life 2 vs Deus ex 2

I'd have to say Deus Ex and Half-Life were on the same level. Deus Ex had a much better story than Half-Life, and Half-Life had much better everything else. Apart from the AI, in many respects, Deus Ex's monster AI had a lot of things over Half-Life's. They could jump to locations, sweep...

Half life 2 vs Deus ex 2

I'm sorry. I'm just so against people that say games can't be compared "because of this and this." "This game has 50 levels and this game over here has 25 levels. They can't be compared! The style of gameplay is totally different! blah blah" I like reading the comparisons people make...

Half life 2 vs Deus ex 2

So basically, in order to compare games, you expect them to be rip-offs of each other. What games would you consider comparable?

Half life 2 vs Deus ex 2

Have you even played the Invisible War demo? Apparently not. Deus Ex: Invisible War is most definitely not anything even close to what the original was. What you gave was a description of the great Deus Ex 1.

Half life 2 vs Deus ex 2

So they have different engines and different team sizes. That means they can't be compared? That's a load of crap, buddy.

Half life 2 vs Deus ex 2

Just to add: The original Deus Ex game was very similar to Half-Life in a lot of areas. It even had a crowbar.

Half life 2 vs Deus ex 2

If you can't compare Deus Ex: Invisible War with Half-Life 2, you might as well not compare any games, ever. You CAN compare them. I fail to see how Half-Life 2 is so radically different from DX: Invisible War that they can't be compared. The basics for each game are the same. They're first...

So you're definitely getting a performance increase on your older GF4? Edit: Why the heck was this moved to off-topic? It should have been moved to Hardware Discussion. :dozey:

    Regarding HL2 & General Havok's Physics....

I prefer CRT monitors, but they're heavy - yeah. The CRT monitor in the e3 video is apparently light as a feather.
