Co-op in HL2?

I apologize if this has been asked/answered before; I quickly searched and didn't find it answered, so here goes nothing.

Will HL2 have co-op play, HALO-style? I just noticed that doom 3 won't, that got me wondering about hl2.

Maybe on the Xbox, but not on PC. I believe that Valve is working with the Sven Co-op team to create a HL2 co-op on PC. Doom III on the PC isn't going to have a co-op, but there is one planned for the Xbox version. Maybe they'll do the same with HL2 on Xbox and hopefully they'll make HL2 co-op Live! enabled...

HL2 will not support co-op out of the box, but as Anthraxxx said the Sven team is working on the mod.

As for Doom 3, co-op has been confirmed for the X-Box version, but as far as I know, nothing has been confirmed one way or the other for PC.

Of course this question has been answered approximately a zillion times on this forum.

WOW hl2 co op would be so fantastic.

just so two people can see phsics going off at the same time and experience it with someone else.

I haven't even played Sven Co-op for HL1 but I do think that game devs should start making that an option, especually with the increase in popularity of LAN parties. Last game I played co-op was Quake 2 I think.

I dunno, I don't really like co-op games because I like to take my time, look at everything, and most of all KILL everything. I always have this nagging voice in the back of my head screamint at me to go back and get the guy that got away...

AFAIK, that is yet to be seen. I hope it plays through most of SP as best as it can. Leave the seperate "arenas" to Sven 'expansions'.

Whats cool about Sven Co-op is you can play through the actual HL1 maps. Me and a friend past half- life together, it was neat.

We've learned a lot in our development of Sven Co-op for Half-Life, we're certainly going to improve upon that for Half-Life 2. Even still we're updating the Half-Life 1 version soon with new features and gameplay types which will further focus on Co-operative play.
