Of course it was scripted (no scripts, just one AI instruction), it was the only way they could get the AI and the game to play as they wanted it for the demonstration purposes, otherwise the AI would keep playing differently. As far as someone elses comments as knowing where you can pop out...

Thats right, they had stay put flags on in those vids, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to demonstrate the other gameplay mechanics. I experienced nothing like that in the full game.

The combine are not dumb in the AI dept. no one, unless they've played the game (not the stolen pre alpha) actually know how good the combine are. Take it from me, you will be very happy trying to fight them.

Hmm, yeah, erm, one small problem, Valve main HQ is on the 10th floor (nice view out the window there) so you'd see two fifths of eff all looking in. Secondly, it was only put up about 1 month ago, it wasn't there when i was :(

heh, hl2 has better GFX than you realise, also, it should run quite well on that spec. Look to upgrade your GFX card and memory if you can.
