I'm disappointed, but not surprised - it has been dragging on for a long time. Good luck to the team - I hope they can eventually deliver it, and I'll be waiting for it to be available for download. It was always an ambitious task, and it's clearly much more ambitious than they ever imagined...
Borderlands was on sale at Amazon for a mere £17 delivered at the start of the week (I bagged a copy). Sadly it's now gone back up to £24 again :( Could have been a potential misprice, but the order was honoured and my package arrived today.
Borderlands has taken up a significant amount of my time since installing it, so much so, that I haven't even touched MW2 or even L4D2. As an FPS nut, trying RPGs has always been something of an 'I'm not sure' choice for me, but Borderlands manages to mix RPG and FPS play very well, providing a...
And sorry for being picky, but I notice the new banner seems to be lacking L4D2 artwork, although this may be deliberate? Still, the overall site looks great, and I've been hanging around here on/off for years. It's the best it's looked in ages. Well done guys.
In the UK you can pre-order from quite a few etailers at £30 or just under. That seems to the best option for us hard done by PC gamers. I haven't cancelled my pre-order, because I will still enjoy the single-player, but this whole no dedicated-server malarky is hard to accept given that without...
I downloaded and installed it the other night without any problems, but I can't seem to actually get to play anything? I start the game, try out the weapons...then what? I go into the rooms where you choose the CS maps and the campaign maps, but can't select them - I'm obviously missing...
"Valve's VP of Marketing Doug Lombardi reacted to the news in an interview late last week, telling RockPaperShotgun, 'There's more content coming for Left 4 Dead in the fairly near term, that I think will sort of add to this picture and hopefully change some people's opinions of what's happening...
Isn't this pretty much like CS and CS: Source? We have two games which are effectively the same, just the newer version has more 'bells & whistles'. Some die hards will continue to play L4D and the others will move on to L4D 2.
Whilst it's disappointing there's nothing new on HL itself, I think...
Another little quirk is when Alex comes back with the tea and you have to follow Magnusson. Alex and Eli just sit there looking regardless of what you do eg gravity gun props in their face. You'd at least expect Valve to put something in like 'Hey Gordon, watch my tea' or something. Hehe.
If they go down the chopper route, they'll probably do some kind of intro with you sat on the chopper, opposite anybody else who's coming with. I imagine FEAR, R6V or maybe even MOH:A type intro, where you rappel/chute down to the surface to an LZ.
I don't think they'd be going to the Artic...
Come on folks! It's been unlocked in the UK for over an hour! What are you playing it? Some of us at work are desperate for just a few little tidbits to get us through the day, before we get home and unlock it ourselves!
