Thanks for the help, man, but I've got updates in the past though. I got that first patch that was supposed to fix the studdering, but it won't update now. There has been no firewall changes since then.

Steam will NOT update. I've restarted it 100 times and even reinstalled the game with no luck. I still haven't been able to try out HL2DM or the new patch that came out along side it. :frown:

Open the console and type "version" without the quotes. If it says version 1.0.1.0 you have the patch.:thumbs:

I'd say that's your problem (if you want to call it a problem). Vsync will keep your picture from tearing, which is a good thing (especially in HL2). When vsync's enabled your fps won't ever go above your refresh rate. Anyways, it's in advanced options in the hl2 menu if you want to...

Both ATI and Nvidia make super duper bad to the bone video cards (I've owned both). :thumbs: When I buy my next one I'll buy whatever card has the most bang for the buck (like I always have). Right now meh overclocked 6800 gt is cutting through games like butta. :)

That's too big of a selling point to be kept secret. As crazy as it sounds I'm sure they would lose out on quite a few sales of HL2 strictly for the fact that it doesn't have HL2DM. If it was in there they would let us know. But who knows? Only time will tell.
