Chell's age in relation to the Portal storyline

You say "the combine have been defeated". How do you know? Unless I missed some key information. Bear in mind I am poisoned by moon rocks.

Looking for games that will emotionally destroy me

It starts out as a generic cowadoody shooter, but quickly diverts into something a LOT deeper.

A 5.5 year old thread on the first page of the forum? O_o Here's my new, un-glitched one:

    not necessarily new...

Sorry guys, posted that from my mobile. Yes, I remember coming here and being a general tyrant. I've somewhat matured now (I hope, at least). This site has undergone some very radical changes since I last visited. P.S.: Judging by my signature, I came here in '11, too. Can't say I remember...

    Possible timeline clue?

With the activation of GLaDOS in 200X, 2000 seems more likely though. What would it mean if it were 2010?

    Possible timeline clue?

Hang on, I though that too, but when I zoomed even more it's 2000. Here: See how it curves round?

    Possible timeline clue?

I was just in the "crap turret" room, and decided to take a look at the sentry box - look what I found: This means Aperture was still using humans in 2000 and the BYDTWD incident must have been after this. Just a thought.

Post- Half Life future hinted at in Portal 2 (SPOILERS!)

I really want them to finally tie the two games together, so 50K years would be too much, but if somehow the people in Ep3 get transported to Chell's time/place then it would be good. Just my opinion and it probably isn't gonna happen.

    so, is it any good?

On the first run through I explored (what I thought was) every nook and cranny and it took me just over 7 hours. If you take your time and don't rush and absorb the game it is truly worth it.

Post- Half Life future hinted at in Portal 2 (SPOILERS!)

If you watch(ed) the Life After Humans thing, it seems more in line with hundreds - plus all the portaits are still intact whereas after 100s they would have rotted too. Most of the lights still work etc... so I think it's early hundreds.

Chell was woken up because there was an "emergency reactor shutdown"

    Ep3 still in stores?

    Valve are scared of 3.

25 years after Chernoybyl disaster... (NYT article)

No, coastal plants are almost essential - where else are you gonna get the MASSIVE amount of water needed to cool some reactors? All Nuclear plants in the UK are on the coast. But yeah, there has been no nuclear incident that wasn't a culmination of errors.

    ya Portal 2 sucks

Anyone who completed the singleplayer in 4 hours clearly just did it as fast as they could, not taking any time to explore and soak in the game. I took about 7 on my first run through.
