Sorry guys, posted that from my mobile.
Yes, I remember coming here and being a general tyrant. I've somewhat matured now (I hope, at least).
This site has undergone some very radical changes since I last visited.
P.S.: Judging by my signature, I came here in '11, too. Can't say I remember...
I was just in the "crap turret" room, and decided to take a look at the sentry box - look what I found:
This means Aperture was still using humans in 2000 and the BYDTWD incident must have been after this.
Just a thought.
I really want them to finally tie the two games together, so 50K years would be too much, but if somehow the people in Ep3 get transported to Chell's time/place then it would be good. Just my opinion and it probably isn't gonna happen.
On the first run through I explored (what I thought was) every nook and cranny and it took me just over 7 hours. If you take your time and don't rush and absorb the game it is truly worth it.
If you watch(ed) the Life After Humans thing, it seems more in line with hundreds - plus all the portaits are still intact whereas after 100s they would have rotted too. Most of the lights still work etc... so I think it's early hundreds.
No, coastal plants are almost essential - where else are you gonna get the MASSIVE amount of water needed to cool some reactors? All Nuclear plants in the UK are on the coast.
But yeah, there has been no nuclear incident that wasn't a culmination of errors.
Anyone who completed the singleplayer in 4 hours clearly just did it as fast as they could, not taking any time to explore and soak in the game. I took about 7 on my first run through.
