I got it off FP and its going pretty fast (491 kb/s) because i subscribed to them
 
I d/led from the largedownloads ftp link just fine.

Patching now.

omg check bfhq when patched, the other day i got promoted to sergeant and had just begun my long journey to staff sergeant and now after patching i'm nearly staff sergeant, the progress bar is virtually full, i also have the middle eastern service badge which i didnt have before, middle eastern service badge FTW!!!!!!!
 
wtf is this..I log into my account and it just hangs at "connecting to account server" forever...and it wont let me ctrl-alt-del so I have to hard reboot my comp. This patch didnt fix a damn thing for the login for me wtf!

They changed the minimum global points requirement for the ranks?
 
that would be awesome! because i'm already at like 9000 anyway...
 
Yeah, I just patched and went into BFHQ, my bar is full heading into Sergeant and I didn't get any new awards or anything. I went into a wake server to get a couple points to see if I'd rank up or get awards. Nothing :P I assume the ranking system is taking a beating from all the changes and people signing on today due to the patch. I'll try again after my classes.
 
Jimbo118 I saw you at that server, my name was Fast, don’t know if you saw me though. Unfortunately I got "connection problems" after like 10 minutes. :(

Btw, I’m already Gunnery Sergeant. Promoted all the way from Lance Corporal. :laugh:
 
Some guy was SOOOO mad they changed ranks, he was probably one of those with 100+k points, I can understand why they changed it. I mean how many people will really play for much more than 15-20,000 points? Not many. I have all but 2 unlocks so I'm happy.

What's the new ranking system now?
 
I’ve joined 2 servers and got 3 immediate promotions both times, but when I restart it wont give me my unlocks. It just gives me that annoying EA message thing, the one that I can’t even read because the web page won’t load.
 
i played for 10 minutes, and got like 5 unlocks. Now i have every unlock, except for engineer and anti-tank. Wow.
 
I'm at 22.7K points...no new ranks or anything. I got about 100 points while playing! Oh well.

FFS, I was dling the patch from i3d.nl (link provided in the other thread) on my slow 32kB/s download and after 1:19h and 82% complete, they delete the damn file from their servers :(((
 
I've played for all of six minutes and have been promoted four times. :D

This patch roxorz my boxorz!!

Heh i played for 10 mins and four rank ups too! I guess 20K is now Master Gunnery Sargeant- Either there is a unlock server load problem, as someone said, or each rank now doesn't mean an unlock?
 
Well I ranked up 3 times but it doesn't stay registered :( Every time I try to check for my unlocks it shows me still as a corporal.

EDIT: I'm sure it's the stat servers' just getting hammered with all these new updates.
 
WTF is up with this message from EA thing? its not even letting me load directly from ASE to bf2 anymore.
 
Man, I downloaded the patch, got an error installing. Repeatative error...
 
Ok, it seems they changed the name of the patch so I managed to download it completely from the point where it stopped.

However, when I tried to load from ASE it took me to the login screen but when I pressed enter some blank (no text) window titled 'message from EA' popped up and I pressed cancel. Afterwards nothing happened. I restarted the game and now it doesn't take me to the login screen but instatly to the menu where it says "connection lost" after a while, then the EA window pops up. When I decide to go to the page it links me to, the website doesn't load.

So far, seems a very good patch, i got three unlocks within 3mins of some Wake Island 2007 carnage :E Don't ask me what rank im on now, maybe Gunnery Sarge, not sure
 
I absolutely ABHOR the ranking system in battlefield 2 now. I don't have enough time to spend playing the game just to unlock some god damn kits. I advanced another rank past lance corporal 2 hours ago, and the mother****ing thing doesn't even show that fact. I hate it.
 
Great patch. I like the fact that I jumped from Corporal to Master Sergeant and as a result of this have all the unlock guns unlocked, except for the mech one. Sweet. I also was rewarded the MEC service medal (see av). Very happy with that one too. Wake Island is .... well, Wake Island. If you've played BF1942 you will feel right at home. I like the way they re-worked it. Nice little details are the wrecks of Zero's and other WWII planes. All the other little changes and fixes are positive too. I didn't run into any new bugs yet. It runs a bit smoother too. No real change in load times tho. Over all it gets the Shaker Sign of Approval :thumbs:

It's not registering because the stats servers are overloaded due to the fact that everybody is getting promoted again and again and again. It's like when the game first came out, the servers are just being overworked. Give it a couple more hours and then check again.

Okay it finally registered. What first two unlocks do you guys like the most? I need to decide.

The support unlock (PKM) and the anti tank unlock (DAO).
 
who needs to choose when just 20k gets you all but 1 of them?
