I'm not wanting to sound uncaring, but if they decide to stay then so be it. Its their decision and I'm sure they have their reasons, whether its ignorance, scared of losing their posetions or something more entimental.

I did just see on the news before, that a lot of people have in fact evacuated. Thay showed different parts of the city and it was dead.

I agree... The City can't force people off their land... New Orlean's has had evacuation plans drawn up for some time and the city does practise...

The strong shall survive

methinks being strong wont help against 150mph winds :burp:

good luck to the New Orleaners though :farmer: hopefully not many of you get die horribly screaming in fear just before you get crushed by a falling trees :p

I live in New Orleans...staying through the storm.

Weather is nice right now, but probably not for long

We just have to hope the centre of the storm misses New orleans....

The centre of the storm is the best bit, it's clear there. If the hurrican headed straight for New Orleans then they'd be shitting it.
i hope it weakens and doesn't do too much damage, here's hoping they are well boarded up and prepared. :(

The centre of the storm heading over them, would suggest the bulk of the hurricane also passing over them ;)

Hopefully most of them snappers down there get sucked away with the storm

But if halfway thru they decide it's to bad to stick it out they can get in a car and drive north at 14 MPH and avoid the back half.

There's using your noodle hmmm.

they'd have to drive for a pretty long time before the hurricane dissipated. so they'd be stuck in a car, going at 14 mph for a few hours..seeing as once they're in the eye of the storm, there's only one way out, either that, or wait out the storm.

I reckon though, a journey would be a lot more exciting when you see the winds swiring around you, possibly see with a couple of houses flying around in the distance every so often.

Indeed it is :D

Really, you should laugh you weren't there or something. Be happy.

wow.. i hope (if you have a family) they die a painful death so i can laugh about it

This could turn really ugly. Hopefully people realize to get the hell out of there ASAP. Cat. 5 is no joking matter. The wind alone must be able to topple some buildings. I have read that there could be 20 feet of flooding, that is incredible.

One a side note, I wonder what will happen to the Niners, Saints game scheduled to be played in NO this Sunday... I'm glad that kid got temp banned too, human death really isnt a laughing matter.

Actually Ivan is a catagory four, and it is about to hit Mobile, AL.. not New Orleans.

dunno if youre all still on the same subject as the first page, but here goes. if you cant change whats gonna happen, then you cant change whats gonna happen. all you can do, is pray ( not literally ) that the people will be ok. sure, its nasty to have your house blown away, but what the hell can you do about it. all you can do is say 'ahh booger' ( not snot, bugger ) with a chuckle, then get on with your life...if youre still here that is

Yeah, looks like its gonna miss New Orleans and hit further east. Higher ground. Good.

all these storms everywhere like the one in mexico are given me (in cali) some sick 6-7 foot waves

but ya that would suck if people like die and shize

like if i was hobo their i would like use the rest of my money to like get swim lessons

Are you all insane? Listen to the wise words of [Matt] and think about what you're saying...

Human lives aren't something to laugh about, as much as your computer games might tell you otherwise...

That's honestly incredibly disrespectful.

Quu Eff Eee

2 folks in Florida lost their lives in the leading edge of the hurricane already... It's going to be a long nite.

Well if I was a hurricane and someone decided to call me Ivan, I'd be pretty pissed too.

Thats really funny, but I feel really sorry for the people who may get hit by it, luckly we dont get huricanes in England, I guess we are not importent enough.

Things don't spin that far North... That's why the British can't dance :naughty:

If it came from the right side, we could just use Ireland as a wall.. no one lives in Ireland...right?

I think the attitudes shown here will set the future for a divide amongst us that will take the world down a very dismal path.

this is indeed true, sadly. As much as we try to speak whatever we say is dismissed only because we are american. We now have people hoping we die by hurricanes. Laughing about it all, its really, really pathetic. Breeding hatred is not a good thing.

This is a bad hurricane and its no laughing matter for anyone who is there.

Well there's a lot of young people here and I responded too quickly before... The stupid comments don't mean anything and only represent themselves.

Give me a break.

A catagory four hurricane is about to destroy parts of the gulf coast. There are more important things than your lamentations on the damnation of humanity.

Well when people are joking and laughing about it. It speaks for itself ShadowFox, I know first hand since I lived in miami during hurricane andrew. Cat 4 and 5 hurricanes are no laughing matter

If you read from the beginning you'd realize you just said what I said... But we can still argue about it if you want.
