11 year old murdered by gang

My anti-capital punishment conviction is undermined when I hear about things like this.

Is getting shot by a gang really rare in Britain really rare or something? because i think I've been desensitized to this kind of stuff, living near LA and all.

Same here. It's kinda lost its novelty.

Aye, although in the past few months there have been like 30 murders commiteted by gangs.

It is espesscailly disturbing because A) The gang members can be as young as 13 and B) they have guns, yet gun law is incredibly tight in Britain - though not tight enough it seems. Since a 13 year old can get a gun.

I'm getting afraid to walk the streets after nine, these groups hang out smashing things, wrecking things, mocking people, even attacking people, esspeically defenseless old people and in this case childeren.

It's sick that this is the world we live in. My heart goes out to that mother; how do you cope with that kind of grief? No parent should ever have to bury their child.

****ing gangs. Stupid kids trying to act tough around each other, waving their irons around for respect, and they don't care, man. They don't give a **** if some kid gets shot. They don't care if innocent people die.

My sincerest well-wishes to that boy's family.

Things like this make me want to become a cop. There has to be some way that more resources can be shifted toward a better police force.

This thread would be more enjoyable if it was "gang murdered by 11 year old".

This is basically exactly what I wanted to say.

Simple solution... For every innocent killed by gang members, a gang member gets summarily killed without trial. Way too much tolerance being shown to gangs.

I want to stab that kid with the gun in the throat.

Hearing about these kinds of murders angers me. The kid died because some poser asshole wanted to be cool with a gun. What the **** does shooting off random shots prove? I think it proves that they need to die. We don't need worthless pieces of shit like that in our world.

Those assholes need to be hanged.

Agreed. Don't take what you can't replace.

/EDIT Except time, now that I actually think about that.

Its not gun law, its the enforcement of that law. The only guns still legal in this country are shotguns, semi auto .22 rimfire rifles, large calibre straight pull bolt action rifles and antequies. And all of those require difficult to aquire gun licences. You have one of those without certification (or anything under section 5, like semi auto centrefire rifles, handguns, rocket launchers, etc) and you go to prison for a minimum of 5 years. The suggestion that gun law is not tight enough is ludicrus. Personally I think certain things in section 5 should be moved back to section 1 with the same licenceing system as we have in place. Get this into your head. Those arn't guns bought legitimately in this country. Tightening of gun laws would be a further useless gesture that would simply result in causing more problems without having any alleviation of gun crime.

The Government and media, have over the years demonised guns to such an extent that anything that looks remotely like a gun is instantly feared. In fact, things that look like guns will be banned from sale, manufacture or importation on October 1st (utterly useless and stupid legislation). The prohibited nature of many firearms makes them desireable to people who wish to demonstrate a defiance to authority, especially when they are glamorised as they so often are.

The problem is enforcement. Customs checks of people coming into the country are not strict enough, the police seemingly don't have the means and/or inclination to take these illegal firearms out of circulation, and the only solution our ignorant and incompetent (at least in this field) government come up with is to ban more types of firearms and now even things that look like firearms. This does nothing to solve the problem and only serves to alienate and disaffect legitimate firearms users.

Your right, but my main point was someone who the police believe is 13-15 years old managed to get a gun.

Imprisoned for life, not killed. Otherwise we're no better than them.

Nah, I'm voting for killed. Then they'res no risk of this person getting an early re-integration back into society on behalf of criminal apologists.

Hanging is too good for him!

Bring back death by snu snu!

It sickens me to think how some one can disrespect another persons life enough to just kill them with no reason and no provocation.

Previous posters are right, this isn't a problem with the law, it's a problem with law enforcement, and it's a problem with our culture.

Kerberos is saying 'He might potentially escape/be released by criminal apologists therefore we should take on his crime and kill him now instead'.

Hooray, logic.

Logic which falls on it's face when the actual, logical solution is, here it comes...

...longer sentences, without the ability to get out early.

Make a life sentence last for life. Hell, if not life, then fifty years minimum.

While we're at it, we have a problem with prisons. They are overcrowded. Therefore, instead of releasing minor criminals, build more prisons, you government pricks.

You can't honestly expect the government to be logical. This is gordon brown we're talking about here.

You got half of it. Believe me, I'm impressed!

The rest of it goes a lot like this, "because people might be inclined to release a criminal who is not over the age of 18 due to good behavior at a criminal detention facility or for whatever forgiveness a court might preference for a younger aged offender, without realizing the potential risk of reintegrating someone who believes his crime justified and who is more then likely to recommit his offense, we should just save ourselves some trouble and ... (kill, keepincarcirated)"

I'd much prefer that he was kept until he became an old man, although the Death Penalty still has its uses.

This is gordon brown where talking about here.

Logic. Gordon Brown. ... HUH?

Yeah, the political correctness dicks will proboaly get him out within 10-15 years anyway (assuming we find him). :/

Yea, its still politically correct to keep criminals incarcerated. If its not for our saftey, it's they'res.

Lol, Those ****ing political correctos are at it again, the bastards.

Your blinding sarcasm will not work on me!

I was assuming from your position you were more for the execution thingy, but if you're for the 'keep incarcerated' position, that's where I stand, so i can deal with that.

So I guess you're of the opinion that it is impossible to reintegrate murderers into society, ammirite.

Prison is like a bloody holiday camp these days.

It's political correctness....
gone mad!

Not impossible, but I'd prefer it not to be so. People get all the wrong ideas when they hear a murderer has been reintegrated.

Okay, justice isn't just about dealing with a threat..it's also about deterrence. We could reintegrate a murderer into society (somewhat), but I'd rather he rot in jail and act as an example to other would be murderers. Frankly, a person who can kill is unlikely to contribute much to the world.

Hello says the army to disagree with you there.

And don't we need our executioners? D:

so, did they catch the guys who did it and what sentence did they get? (sry if its already said, didnt really read the full thread cuz im tierd as **** today)

Hello says the army to disagree with you there.

Hello says the Islamic Army of Iraq to agree with you there. Crime and punishment -- reintegration is not punishment.
