16:9 display?

When i first saw a screenshot of HL2, I noticed the shape of the screenshot wasn't a traditional TV shaped 4:3 square image. Instead it had the new rectangular 16:9 shape. This raised a few questions for me:

1) Will wide-screen monitors support a special 'wide-screen' version of hl2?

2) Will those with wide-screen have an advantage over us who only have a square screen?

3) Will this game display in High Deffinition or something? (I would assume since its on the PC its well beyond high-deffinition)

3. No idea. Probably, it's just a case of cranking up the resolution I guess.

Neway, yeah. It was said a long time ago that HL2 can indeed run in wide aspect.

If you watch the bink videos you can see this much more clearly.

In multiplayer, I'd reckon they would, with greater peripheral vision and all.

There will be a wide screen mode for regular monitors, I'm pretty sure Gabe mentioned it..
