Anyone else 19 or older and has never had a job?

I've never been bothered about money, but I think I'm going to get a job sometime this year if I can be bothered (that's the problem, I'm lazy). It's not that I need the money or anything, I just figure it's about time.

I was thinking somewhere reasonably decent like Virgin Megastore in the downstairs music/games part, or maybe even in PC World selling overly priced PC's to dumb parents.

I was just wondering if there are any more lazy losers like me with no job, and what's the minimum wage in the UK right now?

Omg, im 17 (almost 18) and i haven't had a job.. but i need one, and my parents have been buggin me.. But im to lazy to go out and find one..

I've had 2 jobs, first was McDonalds at age 15 and my current job; data processing for over a year now. Going to use the data processing for a reference on future jobs ;)

You live in the US, right?
$12-15 CDN, is probably below minimum wage in the US. :)

Get a job where you don't need to use a till (cash register) ... luckily I have, but I was trained to use one and it is the worst way to spend your life.

This man is so, so very correct. If it involves a till it involves people, and that will make your life hell.

I'm 19 and I've had 4 jobs :x One was a paper round, but I was delivering 700 Advertisers :O

Oh, and I've done various non paid things and minor jobs like working for my dad over the usmmer.

Right now, I don't have a job :D

I'm 19 and i've had 3 jobs, 1 was for over a year.
Only thing was, i was doing 25 hour weeks while studying for 3 A levels.......i was getting 4 hours of sleep on the nights i was working and because of it i became a little ill (and fell asleep in maths lots)
Oh well, at least i was getting £7 an hour and i could buy anything i wanted.

I actually wasn't being sarcastic. :(
That's almost double minimum wage, in Canada.

Do the puyallup!

My job sucks and I dont want to talk about it.

19, had six different jobs, two of which I still hold. You lazy bastards better get to work.

I was fired from my job because I fell down the steps and injured my back which meant I had to take two weeks off. I'm very proud of myself for that.

Had one job...which was landscaping.

Ya'll already know how that went....

going on 20 now, have had a few jobs. Worked camera and odds board at a race track. Green chain in a lumber mill. stockboy, salesperon(current), and landscapping

18 now and have had 3 jobs, first two were the regular crap ones - BK and tim hortons, but now I work for an ISP :)

LOL, yeah well since I've been to magic mountian, doing the puyallup just isnt as fun anymore. Its more of just a place to hang with friends, although i dont go anymore usually since football eats up time like no other.

I turned 19 this month and I've managed to avoid working at the normal fast-food and grocery outlets. I'm fortunate enough to have a father who owns his own company, so I've been doing data entries for him over the past summers. Good paying job, too. :)

I am currently holding 2 jobs - one is at a Fine Foods shop.. which is well paid, but hard hours and hard work, however with good people. Since I'm one of the only lads, I have the do all the lifting ;(

The other is at a computer shop. I repair, chat to customers about games, build new machines, make fun of cocky ignorant people who don't know what they're on about, and carefully help people who don't know what they're on about, but who are nice enough people :)

:D
You sound exactly like my cousin.

Im also 19 and have never lifted a finger in my life. Well just intern stuff but no real job. Its really hard to get a job here, you need a f-ing PHD to work as a garbage man...

like people said till jobs suck which is like everywhere for people your/my age, i've worked as a merchandiser for the last 3 years or so during the summer, its great as i work alone going around shops stocking the merchandise i'm paid for, no-one ever bothers you except the odd store manager but who cares what they say, i can take as long as i like doing it too but thats not to say i slack off, i try and get it done as quick as possible so i can do my own things, ths shit thing is i have to go everywhere.

like you said if you dont need the money you dont really have an incentive to work yet, like my sis has just finished college for the year and shes already out looking for a job but thats coz she needs the money, i dont really need it yet so i mostly work coz if gives me sumit to do and it gives you a certain amount of responsibilty you know, you should look for a job tbh mate.

21 and haven't got a job. I hate the process of looking for a job. If someone comes up to me and says "Want a job?" I'll say yes. But I hate ringing up people and asking for a job.

It doesn't mean I'm lazy.

19 going on 20 and only had a 1 job, but that was work experiance in school for 3 weeks. Don't have time for a decent job with training everyday with a pro hockey team. You could call that a job but I didn't get paid. It doesn't mean I'm lazy either, I just like being a bum.

Heh, I'm 18 and have never had a 'real' job.

I was going to get one about a year ago, but I realised that I get pension money when I turned 18 so I can't really be bothered anymore....

That's called being lazy :D

But man, 19 and never a job? wow, that is just crazy.

It's not a case of choosing not to work, training everyday at diffenent times makes it difficult to find someone willing to give me a job with very flexible hours. I just happen to love the lifestyle.

I had an interview with Tesco once, but didn't get the job.

Once someone says that they don't think you're good enough to stack shelves, you kinda give up trying.
