Hey All,
I know when I put 1st map, everyone cringes...
bah!
what I mean is its going to be my 1st map that I am going into with the idea of completing it for a public release..
Ive been doing 3d modeling and art for years, I've used Hammer editor for a file, and understand the entities now etc..
Ive created maybe a dozen 1/2 done maps, but with each of those maps I went into it attempting to learn something new or a different way of approaching an idea..
None I had hoped to complete and have good gameplay/layout etc..
This map is the first one I will see through to a public release, and im confident i can now do it without dissapointing those who play it.. by the time in done it.. it wont be a newbie makers creation.. and with your help we can be even more certain..
I want your input for design ideas, architecture/items/cosmetic touches.. layout ideas.. tips.. anything you think would assist the design and playability of the map..
Heres the details roughly..
based in Manitoba Canada, in the planes, a government Building that is used as the main production facility for Medical Marijuana. Hydroponics lab,test labs,grow rooms, Packaging and shipping areas all included.
Idea is for it to be a DM map.
So with that idea in mind, Ive thought of making portions of the building like a greenhouse.. ( but hydroponics use high power sodium lights, not sunlight.. ).. so maybe thats not suiting?.. I thought about keeping a large portion of the facility underground with only segmented architecture above ground.. so allow for outdoor/indoor fights.
having railway shipping yard with underground cargobay doors etc.. also having trucking delivery/shipping areas..
A perimeter Fence surrounds the Building and its yard, with a front gate access/guard tower.
.. So.. I expect my concept designs will change alot as im going through it.. But id like to hear what anyone here thinks.. about my idea, and what to change/add...
