it seems alot of steam releases happen between 8-9pm EST USA time...so this would be about 5-6hrs from now

Try restarting it. That's what I had to do.

they're not forcing steam clients to restart upon updates being put out, so either you wait awhile and it'll update on its own or you just restart steam and it'll update.
 
when i close steam i got Exit Steam...then i try and reopen it and it goes ...steam is already running? its not i saw it close...
 
Mine isn't updating automatically either.. i had to log out and back in and then it updated... nothing new though..
 
I meant restart your computer. That's the only way I can seem to get Steam to restart. :thumbs:

bahaha thats funny, you restart everytime you want steam to restart, why not just have a bit of patience? steam takes a few seconds longer than most programs to close totally, if you do ctrl alt del you'll see it in the task manager and you'll see when it really closes, then you can start it again.

how long does the upgrade take ???????cause uhhh i guess maybe mine already upgraded maybe and i just didnt see it

Maybe the update comes first then they release the vid later on so it just pops up an hour later on ur screen?
 
Yeah how are you supposed to see the vid? They should make a "media" section just like the have a "Games" and "Friends" section etc.
 
I was told in the games tab, when the media is ready, a media link should be with the games.
I'm not sure if that's how it will be, though.
 
Hopefully they'll release the first part today and the last part on September 30th.
 
Sweet. I just woke up. Its 5pm Eastern time. And I get greeted to hl2 movie getting released today. Nice.
 
All i can say is I don't want to hear ppl say " Its the same footage as we already saw!!! " Because they have already said " or hinted" that it will be the same footage but not taped by a video camera. So chill out :)
 
i would prefere it smaller personly. I dont think my 150sumthin kb internet could cope all that well with nethin over 100meg.

But hey, i am happy with nethin i get. :)
