I have been following both Frontlines and Turning Point, and finally, the are going to be available on Tuesday and Wednesday

Frontlines-Tuesday
Turning Point-Wednesday

I CAN'T WAIT :bounce:

Looking forward to Turning Point, actually forgot it wasn't a console exclusive, now I'm excited.

meh from me I'm not excited with alot of the games coming out for a while with the exception of condemned 2

Turning Point looks and plays like a giant pile of horse shit. Frontlines is pretty fun though.

really?

thats like the only negative thing I've heard about Turning Point. I wonder if the MP is fun.The Frontlines MP demo was awesome, so I will definetly buy it

Turning point is indeed a giant pile of horse shit. The enemies just stand there, and there is a delay when looking around, in both starting and stopping.

Frontlines singleplayer was pretty fun, but the multiplayer was super laggy, boring, and I would randomly die. It was like a half-baked 2142

I would probably of liked Frontlines, but the beta wasn't anything special. There were 5-6 servers, and only 4 people average on each

Turning Point is inexcusably shit, unless it's a huge improvement on the demo.

Frontlines might be fun for PC, but the console demo had horrendous controls. You had to pretty much wrestle it into doing what you wanted.

Yeah i tried the turning point demo and it was shit

I just looked into both & Turning Point does indeed look like horse dung. I agree that the other game, Frontlines looks like another 2142.

I'll pass on both.

I wish someone, like Infinity Ward, would make a game based on WW1. Trench warefar, slow clacking tanks, mustard gas & big blimps.

Mad dashes over the top, hand to hand bayonet duels, crawling over no mans land to spy on the enemy.

I also wish for once they would make a game from the german perspective

Had a blast with the Frontlines beta.

God damn, explosions in an FPS have never looked so sexy.

Yeah, I loved the Frontlines MP demo. I got over the controls pretty quickly, it's just a bit different from the usual setup. There needs to be a universal chat but the squad chat works well. Loved the maps and vehicles, too.

Frontlines is hella fun! Im definitely getting it after playing the MP demo with my friends the past week.

how many maps are on the demo?

I am DLing it now, but 1.11 GB for one map seemed a bit much.

Two maps in the demo. Streets is a infantry only map which I don't like so much, but Oilfield is huge. Really kickass map with lots of individual armour battles, sniper firefights and close infantry clashes.

I always play anti-tank with my role being air support. You'll find me up in the huge factory in the middle of the map calling in carpet bombs on armoured convoys. Not played in a while, though...

The infantry fire fights aren't as well polished as a game like COD4 for reasons that COD4 was built around soldier vs soldier fighting, whereas in Frontlines everything is a little more open minded (classes, roles, kit loadouts and vehicles) but therefore hasn't got as much detail as COD when it comes down to you with an assault rifle taking shots at the guy across the road with a rifle.

That said, some of the weapons need touching up before release, namely the recoil on the automatic weapons and the damage and range needs softening up a tab, but otherwise it's looking promising.

Turning Point was a step back in all directions. The graphics were reminiscent of the direct x 8 days and the linearity and lack of AI was frightening. I hope you console fan boys are happy with the mediocrity that these shit birds are churning out.

At this point I hope every cross platform game fails just to spite the lazy developers. Boo hoo piracy is hurting our game sales and not the fact that what little bit of talent that drips out of the tips of our c*cks is just enough to make a sub par, lack of ingenuity, six hour bore fest.

Would you like a hug?

I'll e-mail Valve and tell them to just cancel Episode 3.

Don't bother, the beta is over.
The official`demo comes out on March 11th iirc.

I know. I am a soap box standing dousche.

Valve is an exception. They seem to remain more PC focused and more committed to the fan community. Not too many developers will potentially take a hit in sales by selling on one platform and make a great PC game and in return get a longer life out of their game through mod developers.

I didn't want to sound so assholish, but I think it's unfair to base poor games on the console market.

I mean, to me the PC gaming market is really dry just now, Crysis and the Witcher seem to be the only PC exclusive titles to have received any decent attention as of late on these boards. Not to mention all of the new technology that's factoring PC games for better or worse.

On the console side, the PS3 has been exposed as not all that easy to develop for, and the Wii is just a different animal altogether, being weaker in tech specs and having an entirely different interface.

If anything, I would blame publishers who want titles on the shelves too soon, without any decent testing or even beta stages.

That and consumers willing to cough up for the same shit every year. Why innovate when the same old still sells?
