thats right... now you can play the amazing SWG MMORPG for FREE, over 14 days IF you can be bothered to download 2 gigabites. this has been out for a while to subscribers, but it just went public today.

PLUS there are no wait times as there is a dedicated server set up JUST for SWG downloads, and seeing as only 44 people are stupid enough to try and DL 2 gig, theres loads of spaces on the server.
 
I didn't really like the beta, so I won't DL this one.
 
If it was Star wars galaxies with some actualy combat like in a FPS then I might consider it.

But since all you seem to do is wonder about doing feck all.... I really cant be arsed. :)

LOL the dedicated server now has a 100 minute wait... looks like i was very lucky to get straight into the DL :LOL:

OMG UL!!! i was 1 min away from a DL once, and i clicked a link, but it opened in the ****ING FILEPLANET DL WINDOW and i had to start again...

but just to let you know, if something like that happens during the download (not the wait) you can usually pick up from where you left off if you start the DL at the same place as where the file is.
 
I played SWG for seven months, even unlocked my jedi slot. So heed my warning when I say:

You will meet some of the dumbest people on earth. Especially on the Bria server, if there are any Brians in here reading this: may you all burn for eternity in the infernal depths of hell you bastards!
 
SWG is mediocre at best and tedious at worst, don't waste your time getting it.

Hell no- I won't waste my bandwith for that crap:

Hypothesis: The game is shit

Procedure:
1. Spend 3 hours waiting in line at FilePlanet.
2. Spend 6 hours downloading it.
3. Spend 10 minutes installing
4. Play for 20 minutes if it is bugless
5. Uninstall for 10 minutes

Conclusion: See hypothesis.

FilePlanet crashed when I was 42 seconds away from getting a Tribes1 :( I had to wait till the next day to have enough time.
 
This is bullshit.. i hate firefox, i had the download on 25% and i shut down all firefox windows and then THE FREAKING DOWNLOAD CANCELLED ;( ;( ;(

Now I've got 102 minutes of queue-waiting until I can get it again.. grr
 
I like how file planet just decided to bump up my 70 minute wait to 105 minutes

I don't really like MMORPG's but I've never played one before. So I figured I might as well go ahead and try it out.
 
I was really serious on buying it a couple of months ago, but then I decided not to, since I got so many different views on the game.. Some people say it's the best MMORPG ever, while some others say it sucks, etc etc..

This is a great opportunity to try it out, simple as that

If anyone wants any advice feel free to ask - I still remember which combat template was the most uber.
 
I'm probably going to join Chimaera, since its the biggest european server and all.
 
at least when you get to the front of the line, you know it'll go fast. I got it with an average 1 MB/s. yes, thats a B, not a b...
 
anyone get to play yet, i have 34 minutes until download starts, and 10 minutes before the download crashes :|
 
i got it in 4 hours, including waiting times. haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but i loke KOTOR, and star wars RPG's so i'll see soon.
 
By the looks of it I'm going to get it in ****ing 21 hours ;(
 
post the server youre in so we can meet up and have no ****ing idea what were doing together

Im expecting to see a bunch of people in the next few days that are happy they didnt buy this game....(I made the mistake....sniff .. sniff...even after reading the reviews saying it was horrible)

i managed to download it last night, no fuss. left it in the queue while i was revising, went in for my exam this morning, came back and it was done :)

suicide42, if you ever get it to work tell me what server you go on and what your name is...and anyone else who's gonna play.

i won't be able to give it a spin until tuesday :/
 
I DLed it sucessfully, and it waas worth the wait (i got it overnight @ 70 kb/s) as it is the WHOLE GAME. the only limitations are that you cant get more than 50,000 credits, but seeing as thats loads i dont care.

btw i just met a jedi in the first hour of play... i have to say he was bloody amazing! he was killking monsters in a few hits... i said "hi" and he talked bacK!! he was like a celeberity!! its so cool!!! I MET A JEDI :p (by the way there are hardly any jedis, theyrre so hard to come by, just if your wondering what the fuss is about)
 
Haha! That's because you just played for one day, trust me almost everyone has a jedi alt - at least on the american servers. And do not be impressed by them, they're weaker than a novice pikeman!

Can you start subscribing on the game directly on the thing when the trial is over, or do you have to go buy the game in stores?
 
you have to buy the game in stores. 50 dollars for the game, 15 dollars a month.

Oh, and i was wondering, how come everyone hated this game ,was it becuase it was the buggest game ever when it came out? or was it becuase the gameplay and such just sucked.
 
I Hated it for the Group TEF, for the idiots that played the game, for the bugs, for the meaningless themeparks, the combat medics that ruined everything, the credit dupers who screwed the economy, the speedhackers, the bugs, the jerky performance, the worthless jedi profession, the krayt pearls campers, the uber guilds drama queens, the bugs, the corvette, the geno caves, the non-existant loot, the bugs, and the "flavor of the month" template riflemen/tera kasi/fencers... There are two things I really liked in this: my guild friends, and the housing system. I spent a lot of time on my house to decorate it just the way I wanted it :E

Well, same thing with Anarchy Online but that doesn't make the game good..

I tried the trial of EVE out, the game isn't really that appealing to me though.. graphics are good and such but it's hard finding out anything about the game in 3 days
 
ive played it for ages, and ive finally got off tatooine (im playing it with a mate and were talking over microphone as well, makes it more fun). TBH, the games great and all, but playing it for more than 2 weeks could get REALLY boring. im allready starting to get bored after 5 hours or so... i guess ill have to wait and se eif it gets better if i chenge more planets.
