...And rugby is for fags who like watching guys in tight shorts run around throwing their balls around.

Motor sports are where it's at. Like F1 in a few hours. Go Kimi. Go Lewis.

Agreed. But the game, it's worth it.
Technically, what your brother didn't isn't really stealing. One can steal a car, or steal a brick, or steal a beer, since when you take them, the person who had it is deprived of it. It really be stealing if you took the only copy that Valve had.
That doesn't mean that it's okay, of course. I just think the term "unauthorized copying" is a bit more accurate.
Stealing is taking something without paying for it. Get a clue.

Don't be moronic. If I download a movie without paying for it, that's theft. You're gaining the fun of the game without helping the developers who made the damn thing.

bah, true sports are tennis, badminton, squash (my favourite sport), swimming ect.. oh no, im off topic

It's an issue of terminology. Theft would be robbing a bank, or taking something that exists in the real world, something that can be felt, and can't be duplicated with a few clicks.
If someones tole the retail version of it, yes, that would be "stealing".
I just prefer a more descriptive name for this sort of thing, like "unofficial distribution", or "unlicensed duplication" or something to that effect.
Still doesn't mean its right to do that, of course.

Theft / stealing etc is taking something that you have not paid for you fu*king moron. Why do you still not understand this? Do you think that the entire rest of the world has got it wrong, and you are the only one to see the truth? GET A FU*KING CLUE.

I DON'T THINK THE SIZE OF YOUR WORDS MATTER.

If he doesn't know what stealing is just let him find out for himself ffs.

Oh, right, let's completely blow up over an issue of terminology. That will totally help everyone see your side of the story. Yep. Completely logical.

Huh? Planetary was the one who kept insisting that the world was wrong and he was right, not me. I just didn't want to miss the opportunity to show him what an idiot he was. Besides, there is nothing left to prove about the thread starters guilt, so why would I be worried about people seeing "my side of the story"? The book has been written and is sold out at stores everywhere. It's not only obvious, but he's admitted to having an illegal copy. There is nothing left to "prove" as far as his thread is concerned.

And that was correct at the first post. If you wouldn't have even said anything to Planetary it wouldn't seem that you were worried about people seeing your side. Just because you decided to be a prick and chose to show everyone that you were right and he was wrong didn't mean that you had to go through a full out yelling brawl with him.

But, what do I care. I do worry what people think about my side.

I take offense to the way in which you people use the word "troll," for I am, in fact, a tiny mythical creature that lives under a bridge.

HAHAH

Actually, thats not completely true. I could take an apple from a tree that is growing on unowned land and it would not be stealing. ;)

rofl another Shasta bait thread.

He has T-Rex syndrome, can't blame the guy for being angry 24/7.

In conclusion, yes it is stealing. Gaining the game but not having paid for it when the developers sell it in exchange for money. Although there is a thing called tact.

Tact is the art of getting your point across without making an enemy.

Some of you have an issue with this, especially Shasta. In this case you can advise the thread starter that to play Valve games online, he must have a legal Steam version. The benefits? Well automatic updates, new maps and content added regularly, a friends system, lots of servers, good search filters, and with HL2 you get Counter Strike Source AND Half-life 2 Deathmatch. Hours of gameplay to be had. This is why the thread starter should get a legal version and join the millions doing it already.

Or you could swear and shout at him, and get yourself banned (again...).
