$200 for a new video card

Well guys im getting me a new computer, finally. Right now i have a 900 MHz Celeron with 128 MB RAM. So I can tell you im pretty excited about getting a new computer. I got everything i want set like a Athlon XP 2700 and 512 MB RAM. The only help i need is for a new video card. I have around $200 for a new one and need your help.

Currently i am thinking about a Geforce4 Ti 4600 or a Radeon 9600 Pro. The thing is i want something that would play not only Half-Life 2 very well but also other upcoming video games (Halo, Doom3). Also when buy one i want it to be a good future video card to where i dont have to update for another year or two.

Any kind of suggestions are welcome, and i thank you guys for helping me out.

I, myself would go with the 9600 but you could go with a 9700np for $218 if you have the cash
Since there direct x 9.0 cards and the 4600 is 8.1 and i think a 9.0 is much more future proof

What willyd said, get a Radeon 9700np if you can, but if you HAD to get one of those two cards, I'd go with the 9600 pro

the 9600pro is an exeleent card, jsut don't get the powercolor EZ version. if you want to get powercolor, make sure you get the bravo edition.

As of right now i have not really narrowed just those 2 cards down. I am open for any kind of video card that is around $200.

9600 Pro, of if you can afford it the 9700 non pro. There is no question.
