2006 Midterm Election Thread.

The best thing about the senate elections, in my opinion, is that it was practically tied, with Virginia being the deciding state. I live in Virginia, and I also live in the county which took the longest to get their votes in. In a way, my vote determined the fate of the entire country in a very real sense, considering how close that election was. I feel quite empowered.

Of course, I'd feel otherwise if Allen had won.

It's true. It's absolutely unblelievable that anyone could vote Republican after what they have done over the last two terms.

Republicans have got hammered in this forum in the past, the republican argument is very weak and thoose who vote republican have the death of thousands of Iraqis in their hands. Shame on you America.

Thats an extremely narrow minded view. Maybe it would be a valid comment if this were purely a referendum on Iraq, but there are dozens, even hundreds of issues that effect people's choice of who to vote for. Iraq isnt the deciding issue for every American you know.

Besides, there were plenty of pro-war democrats as well...

Now we shall wait and see if the democrats...you know...actually do anything >_>

Even if not a lot is accomplished I still think it's a very good thing. With a government based on checks and balances, we were severely lacking in both in my opinion. I think this will restore some much needed diversity of opinion in both national and international policies.
