2012

Yeah google search 2012 and find out why you shouldn't watch this movie LOL

John Cusack, Woody Harrelson, and Danny Glover. Not bad.

I will see this but only because I'm a sucker for anything apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic. Call it a dark fantasy. My guess is this movie is going to be more trash in the vein of The Day After Tomorrow though.

Where the hell did that wave come from? This seems likely to be nonsensical.

Been posted before, looks shit. Is ringing the bell some form of defensive operation?

'Wow there is a wave coming over the mountain!!'
'TO THE BELL!'

At first I thought he was intentionally causing the avalanche with his bell, which I thought was a pretty cool idea. It went rapidly downhill from my realisation of what was actually happening.

Right, and where in the shit does that water come from?

Someone has a bloody huge storage tank somewhere.

"Good thing we built this huge bell out here just incase of such an emer-BALRGHGALGHARLGH"

This production studio has a very bad habit of making remarkably good teaser trailers, and mediocre to very poor movies. The last movies made by this studio:

Stargate
Independence Day
Godzilla 1998
The Day After Tomorrow
10,000 BC

I really liked Godzilla and TDAT, Independence Day was so shit and corny it was actually a blast to watch. But this teaser trailer was shite, it didn't make sense.

Reminded me a bit of the Shining trailer where the blood comes pouring from the elevators in slow motion.

This looks like a epic CG shockfest to me, prolly no story worth watching.

Also jesus christ the Shining is chilling.

EDIT: There's no way even a mega tsunami could get that far and that high.

The Day After Tomorrow 2? Roland Emmerich hasn't made a decent movie since The Patriot.
He never should have let Stargate slip through his hands.

Let's try to predict the story...

Beginning: Everything seems fi-OH MY ****ING GOD ONE EPIC CATASTROPHE AFTER ANOTHER IN GLORIOUS CG!!!

Middle: the main character is trying to survive and some people are getting in his way! He also finds a friend or two. SOME MORE EPIC CATASTROPHES! Main character shares his feelings to one of his companions, a form of love occurs. Also shows how mayans tie into everything that occurs with some cheezey clues and whatnot.

End: Secular - the main character realizes his own insignificance as he dies alone in a dark hole with the camera zooming out slowly to show carnage. The credits roll.

Theistic - the main character, battered and bloody, walks off towards a blinding light filled with angels along with all the other survivors as carnage consumes the earth around them. Credits roll.

Because it uses the same song.

Didn't realise it's the same, thought it's just similar.

But it reminded me of the trailer because of the visuals - slo-mo waves and slo-mo blood (or whatever that's supposed to be)

That line is what made the last thread so great...

Nonono, that was the storyboard for 10.5: Apoclypse

The bell is a beacon system similar to that England used along the Coast for hundreds of years. They would light a fire upon a tower, to pass a warning to the next tower who would then light theirs (and so on)... it was a quick way to pass a warning over hundreds of miles incase of an incoming invasion.

Wow, I never knew he directed The Patriot, learn something new everyday

And yeah, I'm inclined to believe you about how his efforts are not as good as his other movie works

He needs to learn that CGI is not enough to draw people to cinemas. It needs decent story and a strong message.

Oh it is, the vast majority of the unthinking population is attracted to pretty things.

i wouldn't see this in theaters, and I only see the big hits in theaters now. you ever wonder why movie stars and athletes have so much money?? its because the sheep like to watch shit unfold. anyway netflix will suffice, but I'm willing to bet this will be a strange movie
