We all know it has been predicted by the Mayans that in approx 2 years we will suffer from Armagedon, doom's day or whatever you wish to call it.
So, wheres the 'Half-Life' in that, someone might ask?
Well, we also know that the Black Mesa incident is based around 2xxx.
Could there still be time to stop the catastrophy? :)

Wow... we do know that Black Mesa is in a thousand year period...

It's actually in 200X

And the Mayan's didn't predict the end of the world in 2012, their calender just has a finite number of days that happens to run out in 2012.

Yeah those dudes were like "Man if we can make it to 2012 I figure we can just make a new calendar"

Quick! We better tell the president that there will be an invasion soon.
Lets not forget that probably Gabe used to see the future at the time of HL2's development.. predicting all the events from that game on. ;)
I actually knew that 2012 is the end of their calendar - not the world, but this is probably how I link up stuff. :)

Let's just hope that we get to see Ep3 before then, eh guys?

Release date: 15/05/2012. "Yay, I got it, right, let's insta...."

BOOM!

Bugger.

ACTUALLY, the Mayan Calendar predicted 2012 on the MAYAN calendar (Which doesn't include leap years). On the GREGORIAN calendar (ours) it's a bit different (leap years, a day isn't exactly the same length as it was a few thousand years ago, etc). Basically, Mayan 2012 happened some time in our 2008.

This.

Anyway, I really doubt it would happen in the first place. Too many [failed] end of the world predictions throughout time.

No.
You don't even understand the premise, stop making theories.

My friend wants to buy a float plane and take me and two females with him on 2012. I hope he's joking, but if not, WE SHALL START ANEW

No they didn't, it said it would be the start of a new age.

According to the bible, it means the anti-christ rules the world.

i.e. The New World Order.

..Two years from now..

THE NEXT PRESIDENT WILL BE THE ANTICHRIST

I'm sick of hearing about 2012...what we do know is that in about 20 years asteroids may impact the earth and be very massive. by then we'll think of something i hope

Guys it's just like sane people here said before. Imagine ur a mayan calendar creator/designer (heh) and one day, when u just finished another year they come to you.. "So u got it ready, or you need more time?" Response: "Well I' ve made it till 2012! How many years should I do? Million?" They didnt have computer to do it for them, so why we just dont stop bitchnin with chilliasm. End of the world in 666, end of the world in 1666, end of the world in 2000 and now... Like a circle of Stupidity. Man will destroy earth, not calendar.

Sources?

If you look on the calender in black mesa, you see that its in december, during and unknown year.
