Another thing to take into account is that kennesew's crime rate was 'significantly lower" than Georgia's crime rate of 5,115.4 per 100,000 during 1982.

Although Kennesew's crime rate in 2005 is 2027 per 100,000, the crime rate in Georgia is 4370 per 100,000.
The article isn't very credible in my opinion.
In addition, there is decreasing crime throughout all of Georgia, I would be wary of attributing Kennesew's crime rate drop to gun laws.
