hi guys I,ve recently bought my son a computer and don't want it online at all ....Ialready own HL2 but want to put it on his puter up stairs ....is there a way of doing this with out an internet connection .....

Steam will FORCE you to go online to at least check for an update for Steam itself - (only the game auto-updates can be turned off) every couple of weeks or so, and won't let you access any Steam games untill you do.

Ticking "Offline mode" in Steam is a joke. There is not much "offline" about it. Maybey in the very short term, but that's about all.

But I wonder why install Steam into two computers in the same house when only one computer can access steam account at a time?
I don't think you can even play LAN with one account.... Correct me if I'm wrong there please.
