Here in Atlantic Canada we're not used to much extreme weather, but right now there's a lightning storm in my location right now that is the most lightning I've seen in the past probably three years combined into one 15 minute event

It's like every 5 seconds, literally, there's a strike. It's constant brightness! That last one there was probably less than a second btween strikes, sweet jesus!

Anyone experienced anything like this? I'll link the news reports tomorrow, because I know there'll be some.

When I was in Madison, Indiana, they had a couple lighting strikes hit town somewhere. The weather there got pretty nuts once in a while, a little scary considering we don't get storms like that in Utah.

blah, the video I recorded is about 400 mbs :(

I'll deal with it in the morning at work

again, there will be tons of news reports about this as well, so that will be cool.

Please YouTube it :D

When 'The Day After Tomorrow' happens, HL2.net will prevail! (except stig and pitz, they'll get frozen first then hit by white lightning shattering to pieces).

bah, watching the video now...it doesn't seem that great. I really don't know if this amount of lightning is normal in a lot of places.

Whatever, uploading now! :D

It has not been processed yet, but here it is. Give it a few minutes

what the hell YouTube rejected it...stating it is too long!

It was only 13 minutes. I thought with Director accounts, as long as the file is under 100 mbs, you had unlimited time.

For extra awesome, you should let Dragonforce - Through the fire and flames play :p

Ooo, I love storms. We had a couple awful ones last week. It was about three days of constant darkness and storms. It was the first time my basement flooded in years.

I've had several storms that have a lot of lightning strikes which strike close often (loud!). I love thunder storms too.

Florida has storms like that every week or so.

We were supposed to get a lot of rain here, but the hurricane flew off to San Antonio. Lucky San Antonians -_-

Rain, lightning, wind, monsterous clouds of doom, it's all good. I don't actually like getting cold and wet, but I love storms. We hardly ever seem to get any up here though... :(

Sorry, but your storms have nothing on Kansas...

Wait wait wait, hold up, hold up. You said you were looking at the storms while you were typing correct? Why were you on your computer during a storm that crazy? You should know that could stuff up your computer.

I have faith in my surge protectors and lady luck

I might get around to uploading that video one day

Maybe...even today! Stay tuned. But it's really not that impressive I guess...oh well.

What type of media compression are you using?

11 minutes of footage, sped up into 3 minutes. I dunno, you guys probably won't be impressed, but it's still a LOT OF DAMN LIGHTNING

Still processing btw

Looks like the kind of storm that makes you truly believe the world is ending.. D:

Apparently we had a simelar one where I live, except with water instead of lightning. I missed it though I was away :(

I love watching lightning storms. Thankfully it's always been from a distance, though.

Here that would be considered a rain storm... Mild storms here wil blow so hard it'll make your fence crooked, and each clap of thunder is so loud you think the earth is splitting. That's mild. :D

I was in a storm in Florida a few weeks ago, (Btw, if you've ever heard thunder echo off the ocean, very cool sound) it was about 1:30 AM, and I swear, hand to god, there were about 3 flashes of lightning every second. There wasn't a moment that I wasn't rumbling across the floor on my bed... Made for great sleeping. :D

But the sound of the thunder off the water was so foreign it kept me up half the night. It sounds very weird if you know what I'm talking about.

Sounds really cool, I live near the water but I'm not sure if I've heard it like that before. We rarely get thunder storms at all anyway :(

haha yea, I figured it was a common occurance in many places, but this is Atlantic Canada...our extreme weather just blows our hats off and we go "well, damn, better go tie down ol' Yeller"
