<3 Bill Bailey

I thought it was total shit.

I knew it would piss me off when the punters in the audience started clapping before the first piece of music had even finished. It screamed of idiocy and moronic populism. Classical music should be left for the intelligent, refined ear - not some ****er in a baseball cap.

Yes, we cannot let the proletariat into the institutions of fine arts.

But seriously, I agree with Solaris, it's quite irritatiing when the jackoffs in the audience start to treat a classical concert as a rock concert. It's the same idiots who laugh at tense or tragic moments in the cinema or theatre because they dislike culture that isn't aiming to be humorous.

I might be going to see him live later this year.

Lucky bugger, I really want to see him :(

What are you talking about you crazy bastard? ;) Classical Concert? Annoying people at the cinema? It's a light hearted observational music comedy. Informative, great atmosphere, funny, and I was there :p

I suspect a large proportion of the audience were classical music enthusiasts - they had that slighly upper class, middle age, jacket and cigar look - who got into the spirit of things and laughed it up with the rest of us. But hey, I guess they weren't intelligent enough and lacked a 'refined ear'

I'm with Warbie. Solaris, don't be such an elitist, anybody can appreciate music.

I particularly enjoyed the cowbell rendition of The Swan.

It was Bill Bailey. If you expected a traditional classical music concert for a traditional classical music audience, well that was a big mistake on your part. I'm with Warbie, and I'm also jealous of him. Would love to see Bailey live.

Seemed quite demeaning to the orchestra too.

I dunno, I know I'm being a dick, but I just don't really like Bill Bailey or most other popular comedy figures.

It's just all too sensitive and lowest common denominator bullshit.

Lowest common denominator?

Says the guy with a blog with advice about getting drunk in Belfast. Uhhh, yeah.

Bill Bailey is fantastic live. Love him.

Very smart and intelligent man, if you ask me.

Man, I totally posted but then I, like, edited it.

Puerile turd seems to ooze from your keyboard, it's something people tell me frequently but I've never experienced first hand before. Good luck with it!

I wouldn't know, I didn't watch the clip. I was simply going by what Solaris said about annoying people on concerts, that's all.

I think what we can all learn from this is to not listen to what Solaris has to say about things.

Just stay out of my concert halls you great unwashed.

And here I was, wondering why a dictatorship of the Proletariat is inherently flawed due to the fact that the emergence of an elitist group, which sees itself as intelligent and refined over the others, is unavoidable and pretty much removes the idea behind a worker run state and creates a Neo-Bourgeoisie based on self importance and intellectual discrimination.

I watched this. It was great, i do love the Bailey !

:E

Link for non-UKians?

Don't force me to pirate this. You all saw it, I established an excuse, therefore it's okay.

Solaris, you are the problem here, not the audience. ****ing hell son, it only takes a cursory glance over pretty much any artistic medium to see the damage elitism has done, is doing, and will do, to people's enjoyment of the arts.

Jesus christ, I mean, I know you're young and full of ideas, but you at least seemed intelligent.
