3 New Screenshots and 1 new artwork of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Wow, can't have many vampires in that game, what with the kind of bloom effect.

Oh no! :( They are using.. using... LIGHT BLOOM!! WHYYYYY!! THEY HAVE FALLEN VICTIM!!

I know why. Because Fable used it. And Fable is basically like Elder Scrolls.

I can't believe they did that.

As long as its used in moderation I cant see why bloom is so bad. For example, in shot with the sword and junk on the table its hardly even visible. Most likely it can also be turned off.

My poor 9700 Pro is starting to worry though, lol.

Ah its not so bad...at least they aren't using lense flare. Now that was dumb, since as far I can remember, my eyes aren't cameras.

Well, I think it`s coming to the next xbox as well, so it will run great there. The xbox version of Morrowind ran on full settings (minus the high resolutions that is) at 60FPS almost constantly. Remember, when Morrowind came out almost every PC struggled with the game.

Heh we can mod morrowind though without screwing around with our PC to make it work :p

Anyhoo its looking amazing, can't wait to play this.

this game will have one hell of a morrowind feel to it. i cant wait. :D

Definitely my most anticipated game. Just have to save up for a new comp so I can actually run it.

I just hope this's more like good ol' Daggerfall and less like Morrowind imo...
I loved Daggerfall so much... Horses, boats that you could ride, a truly huge landscape, a fun "justice" system, vampires ;) Ah I remember being a vampire, hiding from the day, killing at night...:)

Gonna have to get a XB2 tho, also I've heard the game's supposed to launch simulatenously with the XBN(Xbox Next) but I doubt it.

Anyway, looking forward to it.

I like the Bloom and I also like lense flair, as long as they're not over-done.

This is completely unrelated but I pulled my pants all the way up past my belly button

You should have horses and boats. Landscape should be a tad bigger than morrowind, dungeons smaller(You try designing such detailed landscapes ^_^). But they are totally redefing the magic, theif, and weapon system.

never liked morrowind... WAY to open ended... there has to be some kind of guide at least at one point in a game to be fun

But that was the whole point, to be as opened ended as possible. I loved the concept myself. I could do whatever I wanted. But if you didn't like that there was a guide. It was easy enough to just do the main story and follow the directions for the quests.

Yep same here, its the whole do what you like angle I loved in MW and Daggerfall. I've never bothered to really play the main MW quest, just Tribunal and Bloodmoon ones. Then just went off and did my own thing. Or in one game decided to turn Balmora into a ghost town with the corner club becoming a nest of vampires. Then going off and cutting down most of the tree's, turning the whole place into hell... Was fun, cept now I don't know how to get rid of the vampire curse hehe oops :p

it's going to be amazing to see how open-ended and huge the game is with graphics like those, i can't wait to see wide open fields of grass

I can't wait to see what the modding will be like. With luck it'll be as open as Morrowind was, but hopefully easier to work with (the model file format was iffy at best)

Hopefully they've done away with custom formats and used better made ones, dotxsi or such, more compatible and easier to work with.

I'm sure the Tamriel Isle's project reckon they'll be making the whole area in it now too, but the rate they go at they'll stop and start everytime a new bethsoft game comes along and never be finished :(

You do know that there are vampire clans in Morrowind to, with quests, special abilities and junk, do you?

Hell you even get your very own fangs and evil eyes :)

Actually if I remember correctly dawdler that comes with the exansion, bloodmoon.

well either way, the vampires in MW aren't any good until the embrace mod is installed. Then it gets far more interesting.

I am looking foward to this game immensely. Unfortunately, I am going to need a major upgrade. :(
you have a 9800 pro... why do you need a major upgrade?

Its cause people think Oblivion is gonna crawl just cause MW did.

Chances are bethsoft remembered to add optimisations so your not rendering stuff you can't see, which wasn't the case in MW and the soul reason it was sluggish.

Heh, with all the mods I have, Morrowind is still sluggish even with the FPS optimizer.

Nope, vampires are in Morrowind. And werewolves in Bloodmoon.

I'm guessing a pentium 4 2.8chgz, 1024 pc3200 DDR ram, ATI radeon 9800 pro won't be able to run that game well at all? So damn nice looking graphics wise.

It's been terrible for me lately, I hadn't messed around with it for ages but I don't remember it being so slow as this. Have the horrible feeling I might have to uninstall it ALL and start again.... oh god thats not gonna be fun lol.

I know how you feel. I've been meaning to reformat my comp for a while, but I'm dreading the idea of collecting and assembling all those dang mods again. Maybe I'll just keep putting it off until Obvlivion comes out....

What the hell, that game looks sick! I haven't seen the Unreal Engine 3.0 tech movies, but from the screenshots I'd say this game looks just as good

...but how about the gameplay

It'll have good gameplay, its bethsoft. Daggerfall is ancient now but still incredibly playable.

It's incredibly playable aside from the fact that it's full of bugs >.< or well, it crashes like every 5 mins for me... lol...

One funny thing in Daggerfall happend to me once, I killed like 15 people in a village and was captured and accused of murder and I said I wasn't guilty and they let me go, wtf is that? lol.:)

yeah the daggerfall bugs are legendary hehe, though some of them ended up making the game more fun, strangely :)
