3 new videos on steam.

just a screenie from the benchmark...does'nt really show annything?? i don't get what you're trying to show BWMASTER??
 
They got those Videos with their Benchmark they got from "Shader Day".

I wouldn't expect the videos for a few days. Steam Content servers are having trouble as it is. Wait until everyone has Steam.
 
Sweet... too bad my steam doesn't work :-/ well I guess they will be available via fileplanet or bittorrent pretty soon...

I'm saying that the three won't include a new one.

And that the HDR movie isnt part of what is to be released meaning 3 new direct feed videos...
 
i don't see any reference to three new movies, except in your post. what are you talking about?
 
Yay the tech Demo. My viddeo card will finaly bleed to death and my dad will HAVE TO buy me a new one.
 
After installing the new Steam 1.0 software I don't even have any "Movies" listed in the available games anymore.

No no no...it's not a real time version of the tech demo....its just the same thing seen on the E3 vid, but now in high-res Bink format. Don't expect this to strain your video card.

My computer stuters when i play the movies. Thats just how shit my card is. Even the vids stutter!

I am getting a new system soon though. Dont worry! :D

That sucks man because my Geforce 4 Ti 4200( With 128mbs) will melt the second HL2 comes near my computer.
 
marksman, don't use Steam to play the HL2 movies. Download the Bink And Smacker tools from..... i forget where, sorry :) but just type in "Bink and Smacker" into Google and you should find the tools you need to play the videos really well.

That should work just fine with it...just don't expect the fancy Direct X 9 visuals. You have a great card, IMO.
 
I'm just pointing out that the tech demo might(pobably will be since gamespot has hires screenshots of it)be one of the 3 movies.

That is because most people thought they were going to release a new movie we never saw before or only release 2 movies because the HDR movie was part of the 3 supposed to be released.

i just used steam and must say, i hate it. i liked the beta, that was fine. but this new one is way to much of a strain on my comp. i couldnt even play cs or hl with it, i waited about 20 min for it to finaly load the game and then i was getting about 5-10 fps in the game when it finaly started. o well, no more steam and all my files are back to normal. every thing loads and acts normaly now.

dl rad vid tools.. click on the vid you want to play and click on advanced play. Then go to blitting style and choose the direct draw to surface. Then play the video. Problem is solved
 
you made the title look like those movies were already released. bitch.

Those screenshots are not from the movies. 3 proofs:

1. they are in 4:3 aspect ratio, not 6:9 widescreen like the rest of the videos.
2. they are representative of the three scenes given out for the HL2 benchmark: Bugbait, C17_02, and Tech Demo.
3. the screenshots show no traces of bink compression under photoshop scrutiny.

I hope those movies come out too, but gamespot doesn't have anything that indicates that they will.
 
Good points Spiffae.
Any new screenshots we're seeing are coming from the benchmark app that Valve gave to the press. If you noticed from the Anandtech article, the benchmark includes the same maps and demos that appear in the videos.

christ thats sad. you buy into the hype like a 13 year old kid. Your card is still high end and will run the game just fine. only thing is you wont see the small enhancements that direct x 9 gives...OOOOO

instead of throwing your money away to huge companies like ati and nvidia why don't you do soemthing productive with it. or better yet give it to me.
 
Well that city17 movie was released, so I guess the others will too. only 3 weeks left for HL2, I guess it won't be long before we will get those movies.
 
I had faith in Valve and that they could get Half-Life 2 out on time...but look at this mess with the Steam release, and how horrible it is even after being delayed.

What card are you currently using?
When the first bink vids came out I ran them on a GeForce 2 MX400 and they ran fine(have since upgraded,still Nvidia though :dozey: )

marksman, the Bink default settings are completely lame. You need to download the RADVideo tools, and use Advanced play to change the mode. The default mode runs like crap on my GeForce3, but the movies run perfectly in the 'fastest, best quality' mode.
 
its a geforce2 32mbTNT2. And i have the RadVideo Tools. They help alot but not enough for some parts for sum reason.

Luckily I have my bros 3.06ghz 64mbgraphics 512mbram laptop atm and i can just play them on there! :D
