Nooooooooooooooooo, I just booted my 360 up, started playing Tony Hawks P8, 5 minutes in the picture and sound messes up, and after a reboot it's not working and I have the lights!

Someone hold me.

I've never had a problem with it. Bought it 1st of April this year. 8 1/2 months it's lasted then.

ARSE!

*salutes Bill Gates*

Leave it off for awhile, clean the disc, and try again in like an hour

Discs have nothing to do with it unfortunately, it's a hardware issue.

But I'll try in an hour or so anyway.

There are a few possible solutions.

One that worked for me was when GRAW gave me the three red lights. Apparently, a fix for that is to take out the hard drive, start up the console, shut it down, unplug the power brick from the console, put the drive back in, plug everything back in, and start it up again.

I got my 360 in November last year (one of the first ones off the line) and have never had a single problem with it. I don't know how you people manage to break them.

Sorry but it cannot be fixed.
Give it to me.

IIRC you have a statutory 12 month warranty. Take it to wherever you bought it. They are obliged to repair or replace, for free. Don't let them fob you off with 'return to manufacturer', your contract of sale is with whoever sold it to you.

/edit: I'm wrong on the 12 month bit I think. http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/cgi-bin/calitem.cgi?file=ADV0043-1011.txt May provide more information. Don't give up.

Isn't it usually caused by overheating? Not sure, I know I read a few things about the PS3 doing the same thing.

INTERCOOLER, mines in a small un-ventilated space....but not having any trouble.......

I remember the days when a console just worked...
When the manufacturer made their console to not overheat.

Mine has red lighted a bunch of times on me. Twice while playing Gears of War. To solve that all I did was plug it directly into the wall and not on the same surge protector as my computer, speakers, monitor, printer, and guitar amp. The way I see it, it wasn't getting enough power or something.

Now the few times it red lights, all I do is wiggle the power plug in the back and it works fine.

I'd also like to mention that my 360 is in a perfectly ventilated area on my desk next to my monitor so its not the heat. And I'd also like to mention that I advise agaisnt getting that Nyko Intercooler as those are known to mess up your 360 more than do any good to it. Trust me, the cooling in the 360 is sufficent enough if you have in a good spot.

You mean when they only ran at 1.5 - 1.7 mhz and had 2 Kb of RAM? And I'm not even kidding, that was the spec of the original nes :)

I took it to the shop and got a replacement there and then! They forgot that the pack had a wireless controller and xbox live headset in it!! LOL

...and Xbox Live headset. Not that that means much to me because I don't have a Gold membership.

Do you by any chance? Is it worth it?

I really fancy COD3 online that's the thing :D

Didn't MS say something along the lines of "we're giving free repairs for any 360 manufactured before 2006"?
