300

It's probably a nice telling of that story, although not without some Hollywood embellishments. Some of my friends that I think have pretty good taste in movies have said very good things about this except there's apparently a LOT of decapitations (which may be good or bad, depending on your own point of view).
 
300 has been getting some pretty damn good reviews so far.
 
That was pretty awesome, I should check out the graphic novel.
 
I really don't want to look at that, since I'm still eagerly awaiting me watching it. Movie looks pretty ace imho.

Just got back from the IMAX viewing.

It was awesomeness incarnate.
 
This movie was so ****ing awesome...wow. Though I must admit, during the part with the messenger, I still heard, "RED SAUCE ON PASTA!!" Then I saw the *boot* appear.

All in all, the movie gets a 10sploshens points out of 10. A must see.

I just got back from it. I cannot describe in words how awesome this movie is. I don't even think words will do in a situation like this.

the movie was so badass that i am going though the effort to type this hole message with the on screen keyboard. reg keyboard is broke. god i want to see this movie again so bad.

only part i didnt like was when the council found out that thing about that guy and acted like retarded 7 year olds and making it seem like hey were cheering about it.

I went and saw it last night....best war movie, ever....my buddy and I are gonna go see it again tonight!
 
It was a very awesome movie, but the ending was a huge cocktease.

I saw it today on IMAX (first IMAX experience too) and it was f***ing unbelievable. My favorite scene is the first battle where it focues on Leonidas just drilling through the persians.

I love the line too where Xerxes mentions about sharing culture and Leonidas replies "We've been sharing our culture with you all morning."

I will be picking up the novel now for comparison. I really wanted to pick it up awhile ago but I wanted the movie to retain a freshness.
 
Its crazy how well the movie stood up to my expectations. I put it in my myspace profile as my favorite movie ever... months before it was out. Surprisingly I can keep it there. No movie has lived up to such high expectations on my part... This one is just incredible.
 
It was great, but really enjoyed just the incredibly violent (and well done) fight scenes and of course "RED SAUCE ON PASTA!" and "WE DINE AT RED LOBSTER!" parts.

I was expecting that huge battle at the end, but maybe that's for another story. (Oh God yes)

I found this is on another forum, I just had to post it. Its most likely to be fake.

I haven't seen 300 yet because I was banned from my cineplex. We had all lined up in front of the theater for about 30 minutes, and then they brought us in. I had to stand right beside these two fat, horse-faced lesbians eating each others tongues like they were making a political statement or something. So, like 30 minutes later, we end up shuffling in the theater and these ****ing bitches start bitching about having to wait when the movie is about to start, mind you, it was 11 and it was a midnight showing. It turns out they were going to see that stupid Jim Carrey movie 23 and they were missing it. So, the ugliest of the two bitches just exclaims like no one's there "This is the wrong ****ing movie!" I just had to do what I did next. I shouted at the top of my lungs "This is SPARTA" and kicked her in the chest, causing her to fall down about 8 steps to the floor. Most were shocked, but about 80% of the theater started to cheer, and I was forcibly thrown out by 2 officers. Charges are going to be pressed against me apparently, but it was worth it.

Ah, I would be more inclined to believe it if he was talking about it happening AFTER the movie :D I went out of that theater with blood on my mind
 
Those knee-jerk Iranian critics can go **** themselves. This movie was incredible! :O
