3d background?

Any way to disable the bloody 3d background, it takes 10 mins to load up a menu I'll be on for 10 seconds.

Anyone know?

Same way as with every single Source game in history:

Right click game in Steam -> Properties...

Launch options, enter the following: +map none

Run, yay

Is this common? I was noticing that the stupid menu takes forever to load up as well. It will sit on "Loading" for like 5 min. It seems longer than any other Valve game that uses the 3d background system.

Wow, I can't believe all that loading is just for the stupid background. Glad you posted this... I always thought it was loading actual game stuff!
