Hey

I made this 3D piece for use in a new website I will be setting up, just curious to some feedback.

Was made in 3D Studio max, touched up in Photoshop.

Please make one at 1600x1200. Do it now.
Best 3D HL2 logo I've seen.

Wow, that's photo releastic! Thought it was real at first! Great job!

agreed. I mean, damn. I really wouldn't be able ot tell it was cg if it were photoshopped onto gabes desk or soemhting :)

amazing what can be done with computers nowadays.

OMG U CHEATER U CANT USE REAL THINGS.lol jk
thats looks tottally real man

Simply brilliant, however I will mention that the lighting and shadows look a tad uncomfortable/off for some reason. It's probably just me though. ;)

Nah no offence taken, great to have some feedback, im working on getting the shadows to look more natrual.

yeh, fix the shadows and reflection on the white surface.. but other then that its great

i figured id clear up the shadows for him :) put my photoshop to some use...

i hope you dont mind?

NICE! exelent render. you might work a bit on the ground reflection. it looks to.. plain!

Im gonna try another renderer next

This was rendered at 1024x768.

Sorry if the picture isnt showing up, guess my host doesnt like it to much. Oh well hopefully it will show up again pretty soon.

not wanting to knock back your wallpaper... but it looks amazing... my only problem is teh shiney surface its on...

if it was on a plain... table like surface it would look much better...

(thinkin about cutting some metal and rusting it for a cool hl2 logo paperweight...)

Hey no problems. Its something im working on. The shadows and reflection is what bothers me. Im trying to geta more varied and bumpy surface to the plain. Shadow wise im aiming for more softer look. Problem is it takes a good 2-3 hours just to render a 1024x768 render with most of the high settings.

haha its real, they are selling dozens of em on Ebay.

:-P

great work, great work!

Edit: Wow 2-3 hrs for a render, no idea things like this took so long. Thanks for putting so much time into something so cool for us.

Friendly Helpful Crits: the one "flaw" I see is whats the deal with the lower part of the half-life symbol, like where the two parts meet at a 45ish degree angle and there's a circular shadow there. Its a very small thing. just seems odd to me.

Goodluck trying to make it any better than it is ;-)

yo man i like this work. But only one thing bothers me. Fix this part right here.

Yeah, I noticed that too, weird shadow.

Wow....that's taking it to the next level....possible to put up a 1600x1200?

The amount of detail on that thing is insane!!!!
I can't see any flaws (aside from those already mentioned).
How long have you been doing this? I can't wait to see you tackle something like, uh, a machine gun for instance.
Can't wait to see more.

Fantastic model, FURY. Like others have said I don't like the surface it's set upon. Maybe a wooden or metal table would serve best. Metal would still give you a reflection and look less out of place.

Dude!! That so owns very niice job!!

1600x1200 Plz :bounce:

told ya FW its the best render I have ever seen, you know your work is badass when ppl are thinking is that real or render, good job mate very awsome.

huh, could i render a graphic like this with a gf4mx440? Hehe, looks awesome, very realistic..makes me wanna surf...i mean go out and dl..i mean buy 3dsmax :)

Gr8 work m8! My new walpaper.

just about. Some of the blurring seems off and doesnt transition well.

still awsome though. better than anything i could hope to do.

MAN, AS IF THATS NOT REAL. Awsome job dude, It looks really great.

Like some others said, the reflecion looks odd. It looks like its half submerged in liquid.

Also the shaddows around the edges look like they could be blended a little better. Less liney.

But other than that its the most amazing thing I've ever seen.
It raelly pisses me off that I cant get my 3d Studio Max to work.
