From Rock, Paper, Shotgun:

This is a bit nifty. A Russian company called Alternativa are working on a 3D engine that runs in straight, browser Flash. And flipping crikey, it?s not bad.

There?s a couple of demo areas you can trudge about - a science fiction-themed bunker (with footsteps I?d swear are from Deus Ex, and I know the bleepy noises too - someone please tell me in the comments), and an outdoor ancient ruin in the sunshine. Check them out. Be a bit impressed.

Warning: Dial-up stay out.

Impressive. All CPU though, so I don't see a lot of potential for this. Because you're better off writing a Java applet which does have support for OpenGL.

This is also impressive, insane but impressive:

3D using HTML and Javascript..

Wow, that dynamic shadow room and especially the tropical paradise are quite awesome.

About Flash demos:I saw them, they're a bit buggy but cool
The Unity3d is really cool!!!but the shadows demo slows down if you drag the lamp to the kitchen.
The Tropical Paradise is a big world but I've lost myself. The objects appearing out of nowhere, small textures...so I went to diving and lost control of up and down. Finally I found myself stuck in some blurry vision with no hope to escape.Pity there's no RESET button.Oh,and I walked through the ostrich.I hope he's alive and didn't notice that.

I'm still most amazed by those 64K games that manage to do HDR lighting, good textures and actual gameplay in such a small packet. Sure, it just describes what needs to be rendered instead of actually using the textures, but it's still daft.
