Guys, I would perosnally like to do my own testing of 3DMark03 to see how little CPU/RAM influences the results. I will post my system specs, and my 3DMark03 score, and I ask all other people who a 9600pro to post thier score and thier clock frequencies.

/me is off to run 3dmark 03

You can already see it *in theory*. Just remove the cpu/sounds and whatever parts of the test.

But then your score is adjusted to be without those tests.
Ok: My system:
Pentium 5 1.8Ghz
512MB PC2100 DDR RAM
Shappire 9600 Pro Atlantis 128MB
Sound Balster LIVE!

Scores:
at 400/300(600 DDR)
3002

at 522/319(638 DDR)
3424

with a 1ghz duron and a 97 pro, i got ome 3700 points. (512 MB SD-RAM)

Yes. ;)

No, i saw that, but it was like 16 minurtes after i posted, so i couldn't edit it :\

ok ill play...

I'm testing 3DMark03, not my computer. I'm looking for people with better/worse over computer specs, but the same video card, so i can compar the scores vs. computer specs. Tellign my that a 9500pro works better than my 9600pro doesn't help.

However, you did include the score on diffrent comps, which could be helpful, though i seriuosly doguth that all your scores were even like you had them if you would redo the tests (with only 3dmark03 pelase) and give me the exact score, that'll be nice :)

I just ran 03 again and got 3626 at 2.4 GHz.

I've run many tests on both versions of 3DMark and they are always within 200 marks of each other. So it's fairly consistant.

good luck narrowing it down to only 9600pro, i was under the impression that u wanted to see how much your cpu/ram influence the benchmark and show those people that think(it may very well be) its only for video cards that your system specs influence the bench mark as much as gpu. i do understand that the gpu has a large part of the benchmark and that is because corporations such as nvidia and ati are making such strides in the graphic department, and because it is after all pretty stuff that your gpu does most for. but nonetheless cpu/ram do have sufficent influence on it.

I know, i posted about that artice when it was first released. That is whyI am doing my own testing.

Do you have a multiplier unlocked CPU? If so, you could just underclock\overclock your processor and see if that affects the results. I might try that. If I do, I will be sure to post my results.

Here are the results for a very slightly overclocked 9800 Pro in a Epox 8RDA+ (Nforce 2).

2200 MHz (Athlon XP Barton @ 200 X 11) - 5844

1100 MHz (Athlon XP Barton @ 200 X 5.5) - 4809

The only thing I changed between the two runs was the multiplier.

If you need more info, or you would like me to run some more benchmarks just say so.

nice score on the 2200MHz, id post my score, but im waiting for my 9800np to be shipped, since i broke my 9700 pro :(. once it gets here im going to overclock it to 9800pro and possibly higher than 9800 pro speeds for a fraction of the cost! god i love being able to overclock :)

What is the specific scores? Not fps and junk, but CPU scores and 3D scores in both cases?

I'm not sure exactly what you guys want so I will just copy the details from ORB.

(Sorry for the long post)

EDIT: Sorry, I posted the 2200 MHz data twice and left out the 1100 MHz data. It should be fixed now.

Seems pretty likely... Actually a game would be more affected I think :)
3DMark score = (GT1fps * 7.3) + (GT2fps * 37) + (GT3fps * 47.1) + (GT4fps * 38.7) is used to calculate it, so GT1 probably takes most CPU power. That's why its so much lower with 1ghz slower, while the others are hardly affected.

At any rate, even games gain from increased CPU power, so it is rather accurate that it does slow down, in game benchmarking terms :)

I got interested and decided to run some game benchmarks. I ran them using the same two configurations as above. All benchmarks were ran at 1280X1024X32. All the in-game graphics settings were turned to max eye candy while all the settings in ATI control panel were turned to their max performance (as in ugly) values.

2200 MHz

UT2003 Botmatch Antalus: 58.06
UT2003 Fly-By Antalus: 149.50
Camanche 4 : 53.94
Gun Metal Benchmark 2 Benchmark 1: 18.83
Gun Metal Benchmark 2 Benchmark 2: 23.80

1100 MHz

UT2003 Botmatch Antalus: 30.14
UT2003 Fly-by Antalus: 101.85
Comanche 4 : 29.31
Gun Metal Benchmark 2 Benchmark 1: 16.96
Gun Metal Benchmark 2 Benchmark 2: 21.07

Does that help SidewinderX143? :afro:
