3dsMax 9 NOT compatible with SMD imp/exporters

I dragged and dropped the (cannonfodder) plugins to my plugins folder. When I start Max9 I get this error:

DLL <dir of plugin\smdimp.dli> failed to initialize.
Error code: 127-The specified procedure could not be found.

Any idea whats up?
 
The idea is don't use max 9 for making models for the source engine :p, use the versions that are compatable for the moment if you have any.

I dont make models. Only animate them.
Anyway I edited some animations for a gun I was animating in Max9 and saved them. I now cannot export that anim as a SMD.

Its pretty retarded that Valve does not make any max exporters, seeing as they support Maya and XSI.
 
hi there i have a problem i make model for hldms player when i put the model in player/mp folder like other have
than i dont c my player in game player model like others model have
one more thing how to convert smd fils to mdl for hl2
i can decompile mdl but how i can make mdl for hl2 or hldms ?plz pm me

There's a perfectly working Max 8 exporter.
